I know that this is similar to "construction cost of terminator armor".How much is the price of brand new suit of armor and that's Mk.7 or Mk.8.Most suits of power armor are centuries old and marines constantly maintain them.

Hail to the creeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!baby Ask not the moot a question, for he will give you three answers, all of which will result in a public humiliation.

Somewhere in south-central England.

It's irrelevant.

The entire force of all SMs in the galaxy need less than 1,000,000 sets of armour. That is less than 1 per planet owned by the Imperium.

The cost is completely negligible and simply not worth accounting for.

As you said, most armour is inherited so it only needs maintenance.

The cost of recruiting and training SMs is far more than the cost of the armour they wear, though still completely negligible in galactic terms.

Unless of course like me you believe the stories of the limited numbers and limitless power of SMs are merely propaganda.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I have always wondered why do the pieces of art show marines charging in great numbers.Marines are quick strike force not guardsmen.

But when they do attack it is in concentrated forces. So if it was an engagement that required 100 marines, there is a good change most of them would be in that charge.

In Dark Heresy, human sized Power Armor costs 15,000 thrones. This is the same cost as 200 standard lasguns, but is much more difficult to attain access to.
Marine power armor would "cost" much more, but there is no way a non Space Marine would be able to get his hands on one.

Then a commisar with ties to Adeptus Mechanicus executes 200 guardsmen for "cowardice" and sells those lasgun.
