I've been wanting to do an "all gretchin" style army for a while, but I never really got around to it because I didn't want to buy a swarm of models. Looking at the new space wolf dark angles codex, I was intrigued by the ability to make an all-terminator army. So, the idea factory in my head came up with this.

I've made some "looted terminators" out of terminator armor, spare bits, and grots. all but one is magnetized so far, and I plan on magnetizing the rest when I build them. Since this is "counts as," the power fists and storm bolters are power fists and storm bolters; any sword-like weapon will be a power sword, and generally dangerous-looking instruments are frost axes are also power weapons.

EDIT: After some test games on vassal, I have found the dark angels codex to be much more fun the play than the wolves. Having that extra squad goes a long way. So, the weapons that previously counted as frost axes will also be power weapons.

Here's my first drop pod; I didn't put the harnesses in in order to create a "gutted" look.

...and here's a plane I made while I was bored. It'll probably be a land speeder with typhoon missile launcher.

The bases are based on modern roads; since I wanted a city invasion theme, I took inspiration from the roads around my house.

Any thoughts?

So, um, here's my first finished mini, and some shots of my WIP stuff:

Also, here's some pics of another flying machine counts-as landspeeder (also WIP):

So I finished the next three, as well as the building of the pod. For both aircraft, all that's left is to prime and paint .

Grotsuits:

Here are close-ups of their weapons; rocket punch FTW!

The pod racer:

The smoke covers a piece of copper wire running from the right engine to the base:

So, sorry for the long gap. Between moving and a sprained wrist, i haven't had much time to build.

So, having had some spare time, I decided to get going on my Belial conversion. Still needs a base, but he's pretty much done:

He will count as Belial with twin lightning claws, if anyone was wondering.

i gota say this is an inspired project. I really like the pod racer. I think the best grot of the one with the helmet.

So, been working with some spare bits as currently I'm strapped for cash. I decided to start building an apothecary for the army, starting with the extra chest bit from the terminator box...

This is the "narthecium/reductor" bit. I made it to be sort of a 'healing gun' and I'll be painting red crosses on the bottles.

It'll attach to the apothecary so that it looks like it's hovering with the drop pod turbine, like so:

Also, when he's done, there will be a cloud of smoke coming from the tube to obscure the copper wire.

Well, I spent an afternoon painting and finished both of my WIP minis:

Apothecary

I'm trying to build this army up as the escalation league at my FLGS goes up in point. When I hit 1500 points, I'll be running an inquisitor with a psychic hood and mystics. I have an idea on how to model the inquisitor himself (he's going to have lots of looted tau stuff - e.g. an orked-up stealth suit to count as terminator armor, tau weaponry as a psycannon, etc, etc...) but I'm at a loss as to how I should design the retinue.

The squad has a sage, 2 mystics, and an hierophant. I've already built the sage (a looted markerlight drone).

Any ideas as to what Tau stuff I can loot for the retinue?

After some games played with deathwing, I've decided that I'll be playing with some ravenwing, and I built a Sammael jetbike out of spare bits:

Plasma cannon (scratchbuild out of part of a deathwind launcher, green stuff, and a drop pod thruster):
