hello chaps and chapesses
am a newbie not merely to this site but also to gaming.
Although i have been dabbling in gaming for a few years it has been very sporadic.
My main hobby is aircraft, and some of the skills cross over into this lark quite nicely 
Chanced upon Dakka and thought it would be a jolly jape to join.
have a small set of Lord of the Rings
Gobbos and Dwarves from the Skull Pass set- obtained for introductory purposes
and my daughter has a bunch of Wood Elves
now then, i will be asking lots of ridiculously stoopid questions as and when i am in need of your advice and expertise.
Given that i have the brains of an addled ork, this may be quite often. The main reason being that i am trying to play short games with the kids at the library i attend
(I promise that is not as wrong as it sounds!) We have some kids interested in 40K so I hope to get a few games going and also make some terrain with them.
Played the first game this afternoon, which was curtailed due to Panto! Surely this must go down in the annals of 40K as the first time Panto stopped play! !
hope to pop a few pics of figures up in due course so you guys can tell me where i am going wrong.

nope i am the dum dum forgetting that the site is muliti lingual 
Panto is short for pantomime, a type of theatre show. Usually performed at this time of the year in theatres, town halls and our local cinema. It is usually based on a fairy tale and has numerous traditions such as the dame who is a bloke dressed up as a woman- oh no he's not, oh yes she is- he's behind you! (Another tradition is this banal sort of audience participation we love here in the UK- don't ask! )
favourites include, Snow White and the Seven Chaos Dwarves. Babes 'n' the Wood Elves.
which reminds me. Do gamers like to watch films like " For Whom the Bell Trolls" ?
