I've been really busy lately, but I have time to work on this again. I've also obtained a nice camera and a better knowledge of model photography, so hopefully my pictures will give my models a little more justice.

Well hello Dakkadakk members. I've always thought about making a painting blog to keep myself motivated.... But now that I have a rather hefty task on my hands, its finally time.

I consider my paint to be a fair bit above tabletop, but its defiantly not much more than that.

I got my airbrush.

Okay boys and girls, I'm back. Not that anyone missed me, but anyway, here's what I've been working on.

I've been working on my highlighting and general workmanship. I realize nothing is completely done, I just wanted to feel like I accomplished something.

Assault trooper and two devestators-

Dante-

DC dread converted from an AOBR dread-

Rhino, first vehicle I airbrushed. I've got to say, they're lovely-

And a couple of sisters I painted because I got bored of red-

Not a huge amount of progress today. I had an airbrush/paint consistency problem plaguing me all day.

I asked my little sister, she's 7, if she wanted to paint a model. I was babysitting her and wanted to get some work done, so I was delighted that she spent about an hour and a half painting her mini. I'm slightly disappointed she painted it as a smurf. She had originally wanted to paint him as a Hawk Lord, but I didn't have any purple. Whatta ya gonna do.

Spoiler:

I realized I was out of red, and that's a problem when I'm trying to paint blood angels. When I ran out to my FLGS, I must've been blessed by the paint fairy. I found this:

Spoiler:

I let out an audible shout of joy.

I've decided that the only way I'll finish my project is to be completely sure I only work on one thing at a time. So my first assignment is a 5 man assault squad.

Spoiler:

As you can see, I didn't get a great deal of stuff done, but at least I got some paint on the models.

And lastly, I started looking at basing ideas. I might stick a little flock on it, but, here's the first 100% finished model of my Blood Angels army:

Thanks for reading. I'll try to get some stuff done tomorrow.
As always, goodnight, and good luck.

Life Update

I have been pretty busy lady with my winterline, which is competitive indoor drumline, but I've gotten some stuff done.

Hobby Update

I'm hoping I get my replacement airbrush parts and that shiny new airbrush I've been wanting, so I can get some real progress done. I accidentally soaked the whole brush in airbrush cleaner, which ruined the O ring on the nozzle

I went to check on the stuff I had soaking in the garage and this is what I discovered-

I had no idea that Simple Green froze. Well, the more you know.

I took this as a chance to clean up my work space, and after a little while-

Ta-da! I was pretty proud of this.

Around Christmas I bought this beauty-

So now I have this nice pile of stripped models to paint-

And I won this little guy off of Ebay-

Painting

Painted up three Sisters-

And started on some more and some warrior acolytes-

And have plenty more stuff to keep me busy-

Modeling

Just messing around with some poses and stuff. I want a champion-esque feel-

I actually felt like I was pretty productive today. I would've gotten more done if I didn't have to wait a whole day for the primer to dry.

I went out and primed the missing arms for my assault marine squad-

Woooooh progress-

I almost finished up the two Deathwatch marines I've been working on. The picture really doesn't show the drybrushing-

I also picked up this lot of old figures for just $5. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I'm going to be painting one of these every once and a while to break up the monotony of marines-

I picked this guy first. His tag says 'Ganger' and the year is 1995-

I only had time to get most of the base colors down, will probably finish him tomorrow-

And that's all folks. Good day.

Wow, a subscriber! Thanks a lot mate I feel a little bad that I hardly got anything done today now, but twas a busy day.

I got the arms all base coated, will finish them tomorrow and glue to the assault marines, that should be my first squad done!-

And I slapped a couple more colors on this guy-

I'll be productive tomorrow, I promise.

Cheers.

Yeaaaaah, I maybe forgot about a saxophone practice I had today so I wasn't as productive as I wish I couldve been. But on the bright side, this is the most frequent I've updated this blog in, well, ever.

Just a quick phone pic today. I glued the arms on and got everything base coated. The sergeant is missing his weapon because I forgot to magnatize it-

First squad *almooooost* done.

Cheers.

Yaaay, finally. The reason the sergeant doesn't have a weapon is because I haven't decided what to give him yet

I need to find a better color for chipped armor than Boltgun.

Space Wolves Deathwatch marine for a buddy. I didn't do a shoulder pad because he wanted to.

Blood Angels Deathwatch. Pretty WIP.

I think I'll be doing my Storm Raven next, exciting.
