Hi

I'm now trying to paint my Librarian.

I'm fallen angels player,so I need information about librarianin pre-heresy and in heresy-era.

What color armor they worn? I thought they paint armor blue because codex told to do so.
So before codex released by ultramarine primarch,they worn armor in own legion color?　Or Blue?
This raven guard chief wear black armor.

Id have to go with black armor (though I've never read of any pre heresy Libarians for the Dark Angels)

I've uploaded that pic on the Lexicanum(Raven Guard) and I think that you should choose completely black color.

Another example could be Mhotep of the Tsons, who was a psyker but still ran in legion colors.( HH-BftA )
Seems pre heresy librarians wore legion colors. After Nikaea they may had to be marked and codex astartes set them on blue.

I thought Pre heresy "Librarians" were banned by the Empra and that the only legion to use them clandestinely were the Thousand Sons of Magnus?

Sources differ. Index Astartes says Nikaea allowed for Librarians but banned sorcery. Visions of Heresy says the Librarians were banned.

Banning sanctioned psykers isn't the edict of nikaea, banning sorcery was.

I'm sure it will be cleared up in A Thousand Sons.

The paint scheme you are looking for is black with silver trim and one shoulder painted blue

your just giving a name its not a spoiler.

Pre-Heresy Librarions are just their legion colors I believe. Then again, they also had to be careful about even using their powers or there would be sorcery claims by other legions I'd bet. I know that in Flight of Eisenstein, the psyker from the 1ksons wore red armor like all of them, so I'd guess he'd be a 'Librarion' and therefore is a good example.

And I suppose it could have been that librarians were allowed, then there was the Council of Nikaea, and then the librarians were disbanded and became normal marines and were very firmly informed that if they used their powers again their fellow marines would shoot them.

Dunno. Maybe more an "Akk! Those chaos guys did what?! How do we stop them?" I know psykers tend to be good warning signals for really bad stuff happening, and if you need a canary you may as well have one usual on the battlefield that can actually hold his own against the nasty things you're fighting without his head blowing up?
