Would you kindly go out and buy this game!

I got it on Thursday there - It is utterly sublime...

Word of advice though, it helps to have played and finished the first one, but it is such a wonderfully crafted and beautiful game!

Hit me up on PSN (Seanron) for the multiplayer

I'm playing it. The defense parts are easier than I'd expected, but the Big Sister? Dayum! I'm still not liking Lamb as the antagonist though. Granted, this game makes almost all the enemies religious fanatics, and whenever I remember that it puts a big smile on my face when the bullets enter their skulls. I still don't have the speargun... I'm looking forward to that.

Big Sisters scare the balls off me. And since they move so fast, my attempts at fighting them usually devolved into "hide in a corner, spam trap rivets, blaze away with freeze/machinegun/shotgun until it goes away". Kinda pissed that I missed out on the "research everything" achievement by a tiny margin, 'cause I was too busy panicking to get the camera out.

In other news, the endgame was pretty sweet. It was nice to see things from a new perspective.

It's not quite that simple... unless you're playing on the lowest difficulty? (the biggest issue is that I tend to be low on 1st aid kits and eve hypos when the Big Sister comes, having just finished a Gather... And out of money from preparing for the Gather in the 1st place.)

well if you have turret friend like i do with pretty luch every gather its not that tough.

Notice how I described what part I'm on to people who have played the game, without really spoiling anything.

How is it compared to the first game, similar weapons/splicing system?

It's all pretty similar, really. Weapons, plasmids and gene tonics are all largely the same, but with enough new additions to keep things fresh.

Um... yeah, I'd say it's like the 1st one. Just better in almost every possible way! Drill pwns wrench (especially with Drill Rush), Rivet Gun owns the old tommy gun, new machine gun is a gatling. Shotgun is a double barrel, up close on normal enemies it's usually a 1 hit kill (as shotguns should be.) You can hack stuff from far away, instead of research pics it's a camera, you can have the Little Sisters gather ADAM for you before saving/killing them, Big Sisters rape the unprepared player, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

What didn't you like about the original Bioshock? I don't think I've ever met someone who didn't like it. Even that pessimistic fether Yahtzee (no offense, I think he's hilarious) liked this game. I can't wait to see what he thinks of Bioshock 2.

Forever alone

Playing as a Big Daddy sounds like a hoot. Might rent it next weekend.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Just got the speargun... YES...

Also the splicer prostitute right after you get it is full of win. I almost felt bad for killing her... ...almost. Too bad there's no front hatch on this Big Daddy suit or I could've made use of the body afterwards.

Eh, this is Rapture we're talking about. You know, "Abandon all morals, ye who enter here"? The place where mutated little girls go around drinking "supahjuice" out of dead bodies with giant syringes? Brainwashing children to think that the surface is the fethed-up place? When it really comes down to it, what's so wrong about a little bit of necrophilia?

I like your avatar.

OT: I still haven't finished the game even though I'm on the 3rd-to-last level, and I haven't tried the multiplayer because I don't have Gold membership on live yet... That's what happens when you get '40k itch'.

I found Bioshock the first so meh that instead of buying it I got Star Ocean the Last Hope. I could have insulted it further by re-purchasing Dragon Age with the money but that's just self-degrading.

I actually think a short game ruins the overall score IMO. Nothing pisses me off more then just as your getting into the action POOF its done! Good job!!!!
