Hello everyone,
so me and Bloody Handed god (here on known as seth) planned to play an
apoc game this week to celebrate him being able to actually play up to the points! We had the following rules;

Special Rules for the game; objectives
Webway Portal Objective - When any infantry unit of the controlling players moves onto the webway portal, they may attempt to activate it to strike deep into enemy territory. Roll a dice, on a roll of 4-6 the unit may immediately deepstrike anywhere on the board. This deepstrike scatters only 1D6 instead of the traditional
2D6. The unit is counted as having deep striked, so must follow all applicable rules.
Daemon Portal Objectives (double as 2 Chaos Strategms) - At the beginning of the Chaos Players turn, roll a
D6 per portal. On a 1-2 nothing happens. On a 3, a squad of 8 daemonettes enters play within 6" of the portal. 4, Squad of 7 horrors. 5, squad of 6 Plaguebearers. 6, squad of 5 bloodletters. They count as daemons from codex daemons in all respects, meaning they can run and shoot but not assault the turn they come in. They count as having deep striked and do not scatter. In order to close the portals an enemy infantry unit must be within 6" of the portal. They must forgo shooting and throw their imbued grenades into the portal. The portal is immediately removed and all daemon units within 24" take a
str 4,
Ap - hit.
The objective points are as follows;
Killing
HQ's = 2 Victory Points per
HQ
Daemon Portals = For each portal left at game end, the Chaos player gets 1
VP. For each destroyed, the opponent gets 1
VP. These count as strategems for the purposes of points (meaning I paid 500 points of my list)
Daemon Artefact = Capture and Control objective. If Chaos controls it, at the end of its players turn a Great Unclean One spawns (with Cloud of Flies upgrade). The objective is removed (chaos gains 1
Vp for this) and the demon is free to act as normal the next turn.
4 Objectives = These are basic Capture and Control objectives
Webway portal = Capture and control objective with the above special rules.
So on with the game!
Farseer Eldrad had seen it coming. The black, stinking smoke, the rolling thunder, the smell of death in the air. The violent Warpstorm was just as forboding as the physical manifestations of the warp on this once beautiful planet, Craftworld Tha-Lael.
Looking out over the darkened plains, he only had a vision of impending doom. He knew far overhead his breathern were fighting furiously in space having seen the great warship Terminus Est appear from the Warp, and he prayed they could hold it back long enough for him to accomplish his mission on this once beautiful planet; closing the Daemon gates that had been sprouting all over the planet since the event of the Warpstorm.
He had prepared well, mustering the elite of his forces, he and his Farseers working hard imbueing the oft carried Plasma Grenades of his people with the power to close the Daemon Warpgates. He only hoped it was enough. He knew that the manifestations of Chaos that had came to one of his worlds were not to be taken lightly; the chosen of Khorne and Nurgle had been seen by his scouts on many battlefields on the planet already.
But now was not the time to muse; it was a time for action. Eldrad had seen what was to come if he did not make his stand. It was time to push back; starting with Madyrn-Shol.

Strategm: Obstacles
For the deployment phase I won the first turn. I deployed up the center, placing my landraiders, defilers, and khorne rhinos up front, keeping my termis in reserve. I put the plasma-cycles on the right side, to assist the
LR. Havocs were placed in some walled ruins on the right side, aiming out. I put all 3 plague marine rhinos guarding my two portals (the large blast templates).
Seth deployed all his serpents in his back right corner. On his left, by the temple w/ the daemon artefact, he placed his blob of guardians w/ warlock and 3 wraithlord in a loose formation. The large area terrain offered the guardians good cover! His pathfinders infiltrated my back lines, in a foundry. His other pathfinders held his tower objective!
After stealing initiative, seth redeployed 3 units with eldrad, placing all 3 waveserpents w/ firedragons on the frontlines. He placed 5 tank traps about 6" apart on the center of no mans land, and placed 4-5 others sporatically around his DZ (we used trees, statues, all sorts of things, which is why the terrain looks kind of clustered).
Objectives were placed, my demon portals deep in my DZ, and my objectives being the two bunkers in my DZ. I claimed I wanted to hold them as a good foothold for assaulting the city. For seth he placed his objectives in his back right tower and in the large area terrain, under the huge arch. The webway portal was placed on a platform in the center, making it easily accessable to seth (but not myself). And it was game on!
Eldar T1

- Seth forgets to do his reserves (after I told him twice haha), but doesn't matter too much.
- Fire Dragons disembark from all his wave serpents after they move 6" closer on all fronts
- Shooting sees my far back rhino penned and wrecked, spitting out my plague marines!
- The front like Firedragons do a number, blowing up my left defiler, kharnes land raider (killing 1 chosen and 2
FD in the blast), and my right defiler
- Wraithlords + guardians shoot tons of bright lances and missile launchers at my
LR, but due to range much of the
BL's are out. Missiles glance once, but
DP ignores his low roll
- Wave serpents up front shoot up kharnes chosen squad, killing 1 total

WS with a well placed

- Kharne + chosen charge the
WS + fire dragons. Kharne wrecks the serpent (and doesn't roll any 1's thank god!) and the chosen bitch slap the dragons, wiping them out. Dragons killed 1 in return. They consolidate toward the river
- the bikers charge the rightmost dragons through the wreckage, making all their dangerous terrain rolls (recons awesome!). Dragons do nothing, I kill 1, we lock in
Eldar T2

- All reserves come in!
- 2 swooping hawk squads mishap and die, falling from the sky like rocks >.> Last one scatters and lands in the foundry
- Bike council turboboosts on to the left of the terrain
- Swooping hawk bombs kill 2 chosen in kharnes squad and 1 zerker
- Pathfinders in tower kill1 terminator
- Pathfinders in back kill 4 plague marines
- Wraithlords pen last landraider 3 times (all brightlances), but due to smoke, I make all the saves!
- Wave serpents kill 4 zerkers from the disembarked squad and take out 1 more chosen from kharnes squad
- Bikes move 6" forward in assault phase
- bikers wipe out rest of dragons and consolidate 6" forward
Chaos T2

- Forward portal spits out 6 plaguebearers; rear portal does nothing

- Plaguebearers in back keep trudging toward my rearmost objective
- Kharne + squad move across the river and behind the building there
- Bikers + termis move toward council
- Khorne zerkers re-embark in their rhino and it moves up. All rhinos shuffle around
- Assault sees the plague marines wipe out the pathfinders in back
- Termis + nurgle bikers assault biker council. Council kills 5 bikers + 1 terminator, I do 6-7 wounds and he only loses 3 bikes (even without fortune they're hard!). I fail leadership on both squads and he catches the termis, wiping em out. He consolidates 3" toward my
LR

- Typhus + chosen get out of
LR and charge guardians, killing 10 and making them run 10". Due to the way his guardians were, I consolidated 3" still within range of 2 of them
- Kharne + his remaining 3 chosen charge the bike council. Kharne beats face, kill 1 chosen (my last melta) and 3 bikers. They swing back and I make ALL my saves, and due to the fact I killed the embolden lock, they run away 10"! I consolidate, getting a 5", staying in range to make em run again
Eldar T4

- Bike council runs another 16" through terrain, and dangerous terrain kills off 2 more, putting them below half strength
- Guardians run off the board
- Swooping hawks come back in and mishap, dying (they sucked this game
lol)
- Wraithlords shoot everything into typhus chosen, killing 3
- Wave serpent drops off avengers. They take the portal DSing 10" away from my portal
- Wave serpent moves off webway and immobilizes itself on terrain!
- Another
WS turbos onto the webway only to wreck itself with another roll of a 1! The avengers come out unpinned and take the portal, DSing right next to my rear demon portal
- Dire avengers blow up my daemon portal killing 1 plaguebearer in its collapse
- Other Dire Avengers kill 4 of my daemonettes
- Wave serpent by my other portal kills 2 daemonettes
- 2 wraithlords charge typhus + chosen. Typhus blows ones head up with his psychic weapon, wraithlord hits typhus twice... and I roll a 5 and a 6 to save! Wraithlord loses 2 wounds to fearless
- LOTS of stuff shoots at kharne + his last 2 chosen, but only 1 dies! Kharne lives on!
Chaos T4

- Plaguebearers finally reach both my objectives
- My plague marines on my back field move up to shoot at some avengers, daemonettes take up position to charge them too. Daemonette wall by the front portal fans out, trying to protect it from the imminent grenade!
- Zerkers in rhinos keep moving up through all the terrain (thats all they've done this game
lol)
- Kharne moves up 6" and splits, his last chosen w/

- Shooting sees my plague marines flamers kill 4 dire avengers, they pass

- Plague marines in back by the large dire avenger battle shoot 2 meltas and punch the wave serpent with a power fist, but do squat (missed all
PF swings AND both meltas)
- Land raider + havoks immobilize the red wave serpent on the objective up in his terrain
- Khorne zerkers disembark and charge the pathfinders building, penning it 3 times (yay autohit!).... too bad i roll a 1, 3, and 4. They really are stunned

- Chosen that were with typhus wreck red wave serpent
- rhino by the seer council moves, disembarks zerkers, and they run up to the objective

- Seer council moves up, flamering my zerkers. They also shoot spears and pistols. He kills the sergeant + 2 others (I made a lot of saves, he doom/guided and wounded me 12 times)
- Eldrad + locks charges my rhino and zerkers. They blow the rhino, killing 2 of their own in the blast! No grenades allows me to kill 2 before they swing, and eldrad slaps down 3 zerkers. I lose 1 more to fearless, and we lock in.

LD and gets run down!
Chaos T6

- Plague marines behind
WS on my plaguebearer objective blow it to bits, killing 2 plaguebearers and 1 daemonette (darn blasts!)
- Tons of melta, typhus glancing with his breath (rolled a 3 :( ), and a power fist only sees the black serpent shaken
- 5 khorne left from my rhino earlier charge the pathfinders tower with the other 10. They finally wreck it, forcing the pathfinders out.
- Typhus and the
GD are out of charge range, and the zerkers are gonna die, so we call it
Drum roll please.....

Chaos 5 - Eldar 4
The desperation of his strokes was apparent as Eldrad and his retinue fought back the ravenous Berserkers. Having struck down his latest foe he took stock of his surroundings. Buildings burned, civilians ran screaming, many being cut down by bloody hails of bullets and mortar. Turning he took in the sight of a nightmare; grotesquely bloated and oozing puss, little creatures scuttling around its feet. It carried a sword twice his height; a monstrous aberration from a nightmare.
"You cannot change the future puny creature," it gurgled, bugs and insects spewing forth from its grotesque maw. Raising its fist in the air it spewed forth harsh syllables, which Eldrad knew to be daemonic. Reacting Eldrad grabbed up one of his fellow warlocks spears, throwing it with all his might at the daemon.
Too late. As the spear struck home, the last syllable resounded with a thunderous roar. Eldrad felt the power of the warp drawing, threatening to turn him inside out, tear his body assunder. All around him warp gates opened, spewing forth daemonic hordes left and right. The remainder of his forces were no match; there was just too many!
"Perhaps not today," Eldrad sneared at the lumbering blob. "But we shall meet again!"
As Eldrad called for a retreat and they left the planet Eldrad swore only revenge on the daemonic incursion, swearing he would come back to cleanse the planet he had lost.
Aftermath: A brutally bloody game! Seth made some tactical errors; he played way too conservatively with eldrads seer council, only using them in the final two turns. He forgot fortune the whole game (I think he was rushing); and in a few battles the dice rebelled! I had a few such turns as well, but I also forgot some things myself (such as rolling for a daemon weapon on typhus, tho the 3 attacks base did their job
lol). I also did a horrible job on the backfield, moving the plague marines around with nothing for them to do. The havocs were also poorly deployed.
Overall though we both learned some valueable lessons and had a blast! tho standing for 5 hours starts to hurt haha

What can I say? He caused a seer council to run, smacked down a waveserpent, and survived a shooting phase he honestly shouldn't have. Skulls for the skull throne!
Eldar - eldrad + fire dragons
eldrad and the fire dragons were the mvp for eldar because eldrad's divination allowed the fire dragons to reposition which allowed them to destroy a landraider and two defilers - Seth
Worst of the Game
Chaos - Khorne Terminators
All I need to say is; suckage! I charged in with 24 attacks (only 4
LC termis were in range), and what did I get? I killed 3 damn bikes and lost a whole squad in return -_- Bikes were a big part of it, but at least the bikes killed some fire dragons!
Eldar - Swooping hawks
They all mishapped and died... and only accounted for about 5 dead models. Fail.
