Unless I'm very much mistaken, there's atleast one, if not two GW in Bristol. Go ask around there.

I'm in Bristol. Don't have much of an army yet but will be looking for games in the next month or two. Oh, and do you know of a non-GW place to play at? I don't use GW minis...

Run a whole lot of wfrp and other rpg's, play The Woods and Kill Team, gather and look mournfully at imperial guard knowing I'll never finish enough to use them on the tabletop

Only place i've played at so far is Exeter GW (closest to me). Yeovil Witch Engine does 40k on wednesday nights (not good for me).

Other than that? not really i'm afraid. You could try using the GW website and seeing if there are any gaming clubs near you.

Or just google. There's a few comic shops that might have gaming nights as well.

cheers corrennus, I'm ubercasual and very cautious who I play with these days... a retired vet really since I started back in '97 and have just come back tentatively from a 7yr break.

I use IG, mostly historical minis converted up with new weaponry.

Thanks stompa for the link!

ah, well BVG is outta my league - if it's in a GW I can't play. Hopefully IceKlaw will benefit.

No worries, haven't tried them myself but I do remember they were looking for new premises and also that they seem fairly relaxed.

I'd suggest joining their forum and asking about your model situation. If nothing else you can certainly look to arrange games at folks houses.

I'll give you a game at some stage if you like, I live in Bedminster (the realm of dread) and have a 6x4 polystyrene board, some terrain and a shedload of angry unpainted orks...

I too am just getting back into things this last year/2 years after about 10 years away. I'm still learning really so it would be cool with me if you can tolerate me occasionally staring blankly at the dice and then muttering and flicking through the rulebook (or swearing loudly after each game once I realise I forgot to Waaagh!).

Well i'm a newbie SM player (emperor's knights) and really just finding my feet and playing style.

Haven't gone against guard yet (why would they when they're secretly loyalist marines?) lol

would like to try

@Correnus - while I've been getting back into it in the last year or two, I've only been playing my old housemate - a Space Wolf player. As a result I feel pretty good about shooting up MEQ's

There's plenty of reasons for Loyalist marines to fight Guard. Have a read of some of the Soul Drinkers books and you'll get an idea as to how crazy Marines really are.

Shame you're so far down.

@meangreen - sounds good, I'd love to play some Orks actually, and I've just moved to Easton so not too far. If you can live with the occasional Cardboard Tank to go with your unpainted Orks, I'm sure we'll have a laugh.

I've read nearly all space marine books. and who's to say your guard aren't TRAITOR guard lol.

Or, like in DoW your guard just get in the way of an Astartes force lol

And yeah it is a shame

I've been in and met the guy who owns the place, lovely chap. It's opening in three weeks or so, and has two floors of lovely gaming tables along with a coffee bar. What more could a gamer want?

I know I'll be there, since my GF works nearby...

Hi Bristol gamers

Been out of the game for some time but recently picked it up again and built myself a nice little GK army (2000 points). Looking forward to the new codex!

Anyhow, anyone out there (preferably with social skills) who would want to meet up at Cut and Thrust and roll some dice?

I don't take it too seriously. I prefer the fluff to winning....but only just....

With Cut and Thrust, just pop in there a few times, get to know some of the folks at the coffee bar.

'Corrode' (Liam) on dakka is a good player (well, when my orks aren't beating his crimson fists into the ground... /snerk) as is my old friend 'Randy McStab' (Matt)and then there's the Vanguard thursday night sign up, if you want to take a look over on their site.

Alex who runs Cut and Thrust has a great Tyranids army and is great to play against, as is his 'number 2', Dozer Dan, who runs a very nice force of Orks.

Other Dakkadakka folks who play there and I've played and would recommend are 'Lunarman' and 'Chaos Lord Gir' both great chaps.

I would recommend Captain Roderick to you as well, but he's a shameless liar and a cheat! (not really, he's just either playing necromunda or not there since his work took him away).

Hope that helps.

Hello whoever you are!

I'm about the shop a lot of the time (studenting has its perks) and I can roll out Guard, Blood Angels or vanilla Marines. Shoot me a PM and we'll arrange something

“Do not ask me to approach the battle meekly, to creep through the shadows, or to quietly slip on my foes in the dark. I am Rogal Dorn, Imperial Fist, Space Marine, Emperor’s Champion. Let my enemies cower at my advance and tremble at the sight of me.”

You'll never believe this - I've actually started painting my dudes. Reasonably well. And converting special weapons etc. It's a miracle, and has renewed my faith in my guardsmen!

Have you managed to get any gaming in over there?
