Heys guys I was think we could make our own chaos legion including home-made fluff,characters,colour schemes and chapter symbols. It should be fun

Which theme would be used?

Indeed we need a idea to build this on.

It would be a renegade Chapter, as the Traitor Legions are all covered by official GW fluff.

There is a difference between Traitor Legions and general Chaos Space Marines

Unless they use the II/XI legion.

I was thinking of Blood Wardens? Maybe we can go with a Khorne theme?

The name 'Warden' implies they watch over the blood in a prison, no?

Besides, calling them Blood-anything seems cliche` after Blood Angels, Blood Ravens, Blood Pact (I still count that), ect.
Although I like the overall idea. And, it's entirely possible to make a Chaos Warband, instead of a Legion or Renegade Chapter.

I have built my own Codex/Traitor legion - "The Dark Woodsmen" pretty much chaos undivided
The woodsmen refers to my favorite AFL team(australian football) CollingWOOD
so there color scheme is BLACK / WHITE sorta like newcastle soccer team.
i like to have 1 of everything, so i can swap and change my army depending on who and what i am fighting

the real reason behind building the traitor legion, is so i can head to the overpriced games workshop store nearby, and piss of the freaks - they hate the fact my army is not standard! i love it!

i have created my own champions with there own rules, this is what i have, they have names(all Collingwood players eg, Great Dane Swanikis , a few have special rules)

As ai sed above, i have all the army, such as havocs and greater daemons but this is all i end up using(i do bust out the Bloodthirster, it does come out, but never feels rite! but god it kicks ass!!!)

HQ - i choose these depending on points/army, they end up always being the most important!
1 x Chaos Daemon Prince(with wings, of course!) - standard
1 x Chaos Lord( chopped up marine champion, i used 10 swords as wings, they look sweet, then stuck a gargoyle head from a rhino on his gun, that looks awesome - also have 4 hooks from rhino on his back and hung jewelry chain from that - special rules for this pinhead inspired badass)
1x Chaos Lieutenant( i stuck him on a bike, chopped the bike, turned it into a chopper, stuck sum extra guns and gave him a mutated arm this is one evil looking biker-who still dies real easy:(
1 x Chaos sorcerer - used a standard marine, with a shoulder pad around his head, gave him sum nice mutated arms and weird back pack
ELITES
5x chaos chosen - i used the chaos marines from the SPACE-CRUSADE game - i like the look of them and they look allot different, plus, they have been around forever, so i guess they really are veteran models rite>?
3 x obliterators - (look i love Terminators as much as the next guy, but these guys are BETTER, they dont seem to attract the same amount of attention!)
1 x Rhino - (usually use this guy to get sum bezerkas/oblitorators rite up front/flank quick!)
TROOPS
10 x Chaos Bezerkas(my forwards) - i love these guys, there just mentals, i can brake them into 2 groups if i feel the need)
2 x 10 Chaos marines- (my midfield) - i have used SPACECRUSADE figures, they look great and allow variety, iv converted them using bits from old chaos sprues)
I sumtimes loose the second team of marines and bring in the TERMINATORS - CHAOS TERMINATORS ARE ALWAYS A GOOD OPTION!!! GET THEM!!! HAVE THEM READY!!!
FAST ATTACK
2 x chaos marine bikers (really to just back up the lieutenant)
5 x Furies (good against less experienced opponents, good to bust out the Bezerkas from the rhino then bring the furies to hunt shooters eg Tau)
HEAVY SUPPORT
i found havocs to easy to pick of for there price
1 x Chaos Dread - (before you all spaz out!! i know the chaos dread is gak! but i have used a Dred from SPACE-CRUSADE - so i have special rules, its basically a daemon possessed gun platform, unable to do much in hand to hand, and without the stupid spaz out rule(that roll 1 can really mess up a good battle plan) - this unit often makes its way onto the battle field without to much resistance from other players, the trae of makes it a fair weighted peice, although i have had to keep the spaz out rule on more then one battle.
1 x Predator - This will take the heat of the Rhino till he gets to where he needs to be

I think the best thing when making your own Codex or Chapter for Chaos is to KNOW THE ARMYS HISTORY, WRITE A GOOD STORY, so when you bust them out, the other players will want to play with you! and you will have all the awnsers as to why there is special rules!

Now i only play at GWS in australia, i have no idea if this would stand up at competition level, i cant see how, i dont care, i challenge the dudes who run the shop, and often hand them there ass on a chaos platter!!!

Perhaps a returned faction from the Heresy that split from a traitor legion and remained loyal to the Emperor. However, in the wake of the Heresy, The newly formed Echlesiarchy denounced such loyalists as traitors for once having borne the banner of a traitor Primarch.
