I may be able to make that. I have been to LittleWars the last 2 years anyway.

Is there pre-registration on their site?

I keep forgetting there's a convention named Little Wars.

Every time someone mentions it, I think they're talking about the FLGS in Baton Rouge...

Bump.

More people need to show!

I am expecting to bring at least one player with me, Saxondog from the PPForums.

He is going to contact the Little Wars staff this week, since he thought there was online registration.

I am trying to convince a few more.

Whitekong is one of those I am asking.
I know he is aware of it, so with luck.

I had a lot of fun at the Adepticon Midnight Madness Tournaments.
So I really am hoping we get a good number at Little Wars.

Same basic Steamroller 2010 rules. I just modified the list requirements to allow us an
even chance of getting out before the cows come home.

Hey Malfred, does the 50 point list have to include the same models that the 35 point list does? I am just wondering I would like to try some new lists and just want to build them the right way for the tourney. Thanks in advance.

Hi Malfred & the rest,

Just a couple of questions:

I've only just found out that I'm free this Saturday and I'm really thinking of heading into Lincolnshire for the tourney. However, because it's relatively last minute, I'd be registering at the door. Is that okay?

Also, I'm very new to Warmachine. No one around here (Rockford, IL) plays it that I know of unless I drive into Games Plus, and I've had little interest from my friends. I've played a couple of solo games to work through the rules and I think I've got it down enough to not go "uhhhh...?" during my turns. Though I probably would be referencing the rulebook and my cards more than a veteran.
So, with that in mind, is a Steamroller tourney welcoming to new players? I'm just looking to get some games in and meet some people who play and don't really care if I get my butt handed to me (can't learn if you don't lose). I just don't want to be "that guy" and ruin it for anyone, however.

Jeff

You're a Rockford gamer? You should talk to saxondog, whitekong, skrulnik and Colin.

Can you handle playing with a timer on you? There's an extra set of tournament rules
out there from the tournament packet. If you can take your turns in 8-10 minutes
without getting upset about running out of time, I'd say give it a go.

As for the scenarios, here's the link: http://privateerpress.com/files/Steamroller_2010_v2%283%29.pdf

This event we're running with two lists: one 35 point list and one 50 point one. The
current turnout makes it seem like we'll be playing two 35 point games and two
50 point games.

You can register at the door. That's completely fine.

Well, head into Little Wars and at least stop by to say hi if you choose not to play.
There will be four of us from Rockford there.

Good luck with playing if you choose to.

I started playing in June, and Adepticon was my first Tournament. I lost 2 games top of 2nd turn to stuff I didn't know.

The timer gets you at first.
My biggest issue was if my Revenants didn't die, I used a lot of time to make the 2 attacks each they have.

Which Faction do you play?
Definitely go low model count if you have any doubts.

I'm still undecided on whether I will play or not. Almost sounds just as fun to come meet and watch you guys without the pressure of trying to get through the game. Doesn't mean I won't still come with an army in hand ready to play however. Either way, I will be there!
It's great to know there's other Warmachine players in town!

skrulnik wrote:Which Faction do you play?

My original starter army for Mk.II is Retribution. I think I have enough assembled to pull together 50pts. I've started painting them and if you don't mind me shamelessly pimping my blog, I've started doing posts about painting them up.
I also have a fully painted Cygnar army that I won at the last Games Plus auction. It's easily in the 100 point region! It was an awesome score.

I'll be thinking about the tourney over the next couple of days, but as I said, I'll be there regardless. See you on Saturday!

Well Jack no one around here plays retribution so that will fit in great with our group around here, looking forward to meeting you saturday. And as far as playing in the tourney goes, whats the worst that could happen? You lose all your games.

I appreciate anyone who can send me lists in advance. I will try to
have candy for those people.

Especially if they can send the 35 and 50 point lists to me at my felixnation gmail account.

A few things:

The event takes place at the hotel's raquet club. They carpet the courts and run
the events there. There's a observation area where you go to registration. Before
you register, let me know you're there. The tables are in the vendor hall along one
of the walls (if they keep them in the same place they were today).

Coins are an issue, so we have gift certs incoming. If you're an out of towner,
we'll figure something out. I have other things to give out as prizes.

Here's to hoping that I don't screw things up too badly.
