Best novels IMHO:
1.) Gordon Rennie: Shadow Point (OOP, Battlefield Gothic, Eldar central characters, Avatar described)
2.) William King: Farseer (Eldar important side characters, nice hand language)
3.) Ian Watson: Inquisition War - Harlequin (old and a bit dated, Eldar unimportant side characters, still some information about Harlequins)

Please avoid anything by Goto, as he has no clue about Eldar but hates them utterly. You don't want to have his images in your mind.

Wait for Gav Thorpe's upcoming Eldar Triology, which will be what every Eldar fan is waiting for.

Are there any other novels with the dark kin in them? I know of and have read Nightbringer by Graham McNeil.

I have read one or two novels featuring Dark Eldar (a.o. Nightbringer), but can't remember the other, as it also was the basic "aaarrrrgh ... must torture more slaves" characterization that doesn't help anybody. We have to wait, I guess.

Dark Disciple, the second book in the Word Bearers series, features quite a bit of Dark Eldar in it. Unless you know the fluff about She Who Thirsts and such, though, you'll understand little of what's going on towards the end and why it matters.

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

-Excerpt from the Three Hundred and Forty-First

Book of Epistles of Lorgar

Yes, I have also read all the 8 pages of Dark Eldar fluff
And several deep "arrrgh must torture more slaves" characterizations in BL novels
And all will be retconned soon.

Actually, I like Bernhard Hennen's books about Eldar/Elves.
His books were translated into several languages, but not into English.

The chapter in the first book, where Elves are fried and served for dinner, did it for me. I will never touch a novel by him again. Besides, the rest was not worth it either.
