Up until a few days ago i was under the impression that Red Faction Guerilla was the most destructive games ever made, having the ability to destroy anything but landscape, then i found out the Bad Company 2 had the ability to destroy a range of landscape objects (trees, small dirt pilles etc), are there any other games that allow this much destruction or is it just these two? If other what and give us a revies of it and a rating outa ten for game play etc

Crysis is a far superior game with far superior graphics (if you play on PC, which is the only platform FPS should be played on). But yeah, you can kill trees, buildings, almost everything, and the particle effects (fire, fog, dust, sparks, etc), and fragmentation is beautiful...
(I run a BFG Tech NVIDIA 9800 GTX OC with 6 gigs, FAT processor etc.... so if your gonna play pic, have the hardware to run it, or don't bother, because it will look like piss)

I would argue Dawn of War II as one of the most destructive games ever; the only things you can't destroy are permanent buildings (As in foundries and Imperial shrines) and objectives. Everything else is fair game, and just about everything will be destroyed if you walk over it with a Dreadnought or Terminator. Plus, with the ability to toss grenades and orbital bombardments all over the place, that terrain can look pretty barren.

This game is quite extravagant in it's destruction. You destroy yourself repeatedly to do the most menial tasks (such as jumping). It gets even more incredibly violent when you find a fat scientist, who's bloated body will deflect bullets for you as it sings a song about "Going nuts on donuts."
Your character laughs maniacally all through the game as well, as if it were actually fun to blow yourself up, proving not only his body has been destroyed.

1+ And when considering Chaos Rising its one of the most destructive games ever indeed.

Bleh, I'm so tired of the " fps should only be played on pc" rubbish. I prefer FPS on console because for me it's far easier to immerse myself in a game on a console. And Graphics really aren't important in a game.
Far Cry 2 (kinda like crysis I guess) also has some destruction effects, though most walls aren't destructible.
Also, Crysis is only superior to BFBD2 in the technology department(if at all). Crysis felt like an over sized tech demo, not an actual game. Battlefields big point is the emphasis on class systems with all kinds of vehicles and focuses purely on teamwork. They can't be compared.

Ill second that, playing a game on console is so much easier and more fun cause you dont have to really look or think were the buttons are, it just comes naturaly and you can be way more comfortable to

Oh I guess the whole Nano Suit thing doesnt count as kickass?...Personal Preference is one thing, but insinuating that Crysis is a lesser game than the BF franchise is like saying Pulp Fiction is about drugs.

I am curious to know how old you guys are... FPS were born on PCs.
look for controls? Mouse button one and 2? WSAD? Mouse wheel (or 1-x depending on how you like to switch weapons)
XBOX has 13 buttons not counting D pad.
FPS blows on console, and if we could go PC against console, I will wafflepwn your ass. There is NO way that a console controller can match a 10000 DPI laser mouse...sorry...it's science.... (srry, anchorman quote)

I never said only good, I am saying that current FPS made for console exclusive are just generic and pretty, limited and glossy (halo series, killzone, MAG)
Compared to those made for PC exclusive which has a large community with mods and hardcore FPS to develop it for a stronger gameplay

it's not dumb...
The PS3 or Xbox doesn't Run DX10 which is the most powerful Graphic and Physical Interface to Date which is only available on PC.
And if we look at specifications of PS3 we can see that it has a GPU core of the equivalent of a 7600 which is 550Mhz while at the time of its release the PC was on graphics cards as the 7900. And now the PC has graphics card such as the 8800 which are beasts of a cards with massive amounts of vertex shaders. The Xbox had a core the equivalent of a 6600 which is 500Mhz but the card had better visual qualities over the PS3 because it has more vertex shaders than the PS3 how ever the PC had a higher amount of Vertex shaders than the Xbox easily
The Xbox has little or no anti-aliasing and is very choppy.
FPS is clearly better on PC as the mouse is more precise than analogue stick and has better response and is easier to control and aim with, Why do you think all pro gamers play FPS on PC? The PC has a better community and Patches are made more accessible.

You do know not everyone cares about a game being the prettiest around right? Cause I don't. Actually, it's the least important feature to any game for me.
And, so what if mouse is more accurate? I find using a controller more enjoyable.
As for people with the arguments of "Modern console FPS' are all generic shooters" so are all on PC, cause 99% is multi-platform.
Those that aren't are dominated by Elitist snobs, not unlike you and pretty much every pure PC gamer out there. Get off your high horse.
Oh, and I have yet to find a more long term enjoyable FPS then the Halo series. The only PC FPS series I have enjoyed for a real long time is Unreal Tournament because of the high speed of it (playing at 140%+)
So yes, yes it is dumb, and using the platform on which a genre was created as a reason why it's better also is.

PC gamers using controllers instead of mice!
Seriously though, not all PC gamers are elitist, just a lot of the ones with big mouths are.
Personally I enjoy playing an FPS while I'm standing up and I can't do that on a computer, I play my RTS on the computer because it relaxes me more and I feel like Dr. Evil in my swivel chair commanding my minions.
Although I remember playing rainbow six (the first one) on my PC, I enjoyed it far more on my PS2(although this was a different Rainbow Six game).
Half-life is good on the computer, but I prefer it on PS2. Oh and don't say that consoles don't have mods and such. Anybody with connections can tell you that the PS3 has mods. Theres an Unreal game that has a lego level along with a 2D sidescroller level.
