What is it about a game that really makes you want to play? We could easily come up with a list of all the things necessary for a game to be succesful, but what are the most important things to you?
Does it need to have a specific setting or is it more about the feel of the game or the way the compary runs it?
Is it about game play or are you more interested in the fluff?
Are there any example of games that you think have the perfect combination or are you still looking?
Do you like quick simple rules or games with more variation?
I'll start by saying the most important things to me are (in this order):
1.Background- I need the room to create my own characters and impact the world. I have never been able to get into straight historical games as I don't like having to follow someone elses bacground.
2. Interest in the hobby- the company needs to value the customers and understand that this hobby is very varied. Give the customers a chance to shape the game and listen to what they want.
3. Nice models- It really helps if I can get passionate about the models as they bring the game to life.
Ok you've heard what I think now over to Dakka....

1. Decent, sturdy, intuitive, core rules with aspects I can pick up or drop out to cater to my mood or my taste in gaming. My ideal ruleset would enable me to cross genres too. I would also expect that any updates would improve upon existing rules and any new rules integrate fully with the core.
2. Designers/publishers values the community. If I am able to offer feedback then all well and good.
3. The ability to play games with players of every level without spending too much time debating what the rules actually do.
A bit of fluff/background is nice, canon is acceptable.

1) Back ground , so youre not just moving some bits of plastic around .
2) Nice painted minatures , they dont have to be evy metal standard , but it brings the game to life.
3) Terrain , a huge ruined city really sets the mood of the game and gives you a visual idea of the battle.
4) People who are as enthusiastic as you are and are friendly and just thier to have abit of fun.
