All they have left are fliers, AA units, and some terrain for their flier game.

I dunno...

They used to have so much awesome stuff, as a new Epic player I despair at all facets of GW turning their back on specialist games

Epic looks very interesting, especially the forgeworld kits. I think GW's problem is its focus on the 3/4 sytems that compromise its core games.

I believe Epic was invented for Titans and Gargants and Baneblades. Leviathans, etc. Ground troops are so miniscule it doesn't matter much they may as well be a blob of paint on an infantry base. I loved epic back in the day I thought it was better rules-wise, i.e. less ambiguities and need for FAQ than 40k... plus I loved my Reaver Titan "Plasm" with the triple plasma blast guns just owning everything in sight no matter how much bigger it was.

I really miss the old necromunda boxed set with the two gangs and the cardstock terrain and all just built in, and campaign rules where your guys gradually get better. Necromunda was incredibly cool and I wish I hadn't sold all my stuff... just one of those plastic and cardboard box sets with rules, dice, and a ruler is so much easier an introduction to 40k than getting thrown in the deep end.

Come to think of it, Epic, Necromunda, Warhammer Quest, and Blood bowl all had that in common... it's fully playable without really needing any peripheral purchases... which IMO is why they don't get support any more. 40k is a constant upgrade = a constant flow of money keeping the company going.

Now I want to go on ebay and look for ancient necromunda box... damn you!

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.

I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.

"You smell dat? Do you smell dat? Napalm, son. Nofing else in da galaxy smells like dat. I love da smell of napalm in da morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' 'ummie body. Da smell, you know dat gasoline smell, da whole hill. Smelled like... victory."

Forgeworld dumped most of their Epc40k stuff when their Aeronautica Imperialis game came out. They limited their lines to fighters/bombers and AA

Forgeworld do keep saying more epic lines may re-appear but won't put out any timescales.

Best bet is to call and see what they have.
