Slowly getting out to the races on this one; while I know one person is going to whine that I should get back to working on my Titan, this has grabbed my attention at the work space; that and the Titan requires more work room than I currently have available to me for the moment.

I started with the tracks and realized that the best way to complete them was going to be to make a jig for my belt sander at the shop when I go back after the weekend where I can have all the peices the exact same to really get those true.

I picked up some "Dragon" tracks from a local hobby shop, these just snap together to make any length you require, though these ones are for a panther tank I think 1/32 scale if I recall correctly anyhow, they're wide enough to just be two russ tracks wide.

With the minor delay of starting the chasis I thought I'd turn my attention to the turret where I had a few ideas of bits to use to make some of the key features; everything is still very work in process and I will be using all sorts of bits from the accessories spru including a spare hatch I happen to have, comms antennea, handles, and even used the spare targetting scanner from my Valkyrie model to help detail the box that extends out one side the turret. For the hatch I'm either going to have to bend via hot water a peice of styrene to make the tube that extends down below the hatch, or use some tubing and spend some time cutting it to fit the contours of the turret; the only snag there is I don't have a peice the right diameter yet.

I intend to build the Macharius with the Vanq barrels; first because I thought it looked the best, then I found out it can fire either Vanq rounds or battle cannon rounds so it really gives you the best options for its point costs.

UPDATE:

Its a slow process and only having so much time/space to work on this doesn't help. But I have been making progress on the turret to where its REALLY starting to take shape .

Sorry that it's a darker picture; couldn't get the light working in here for the camera for some reason, I'm blaming fatigue.

The turret WILL get built up higher next as I start to build the structure around the rear of the tracks; so hopefully and most probably it will allow that hatch from the front driver to clear so that the turret can spin freely.

So I had a fun idea today.... right after cutting my left index cutting the damned plasticard

Plus it gave me something to paint for a bit and get out of the dull of doing nothing but building for the last little while.

Also the tank continues; some trimming to parts on the upper hull; the engine compartment to install on the back before having fun with gas tanks/smoke stacks. I MIGHT have made this Macharius a tad larger than the FW model; as its starting to feel about the size of a Shadow sword though I think its still narrower than one ((don't have mine assembled yet to compare))
