I was in the area of the Block in Orange, CA last week and visited the GW store. Small but a nice little place which was, to my surprise, the workplace of a old childhood friend of mine I hadn't seen in ages.

Then, just today, I was back in the area, and wanted to take my 3 year old to see the old friend and see if she wanted any more Eldar booster packs.

However, the store is not there anymore. Its still listed on GWs site, still on the directory for the Block, but the store is locked up, the sign gone, the lights out, and the windows blacked out.

Has anyone heard whats happened? We had a good couple of months warning on the Glendale store closure. Whats going on?

They did this to a store up here too. Basically got a few weeks notice - not much ahead notice. They decided to pull the plug on a small store.

They moved it out. It's just another on their list of mall stores they are getting out of. Unlike the Glendale store they were able to get out pretty easy and in an agreeable way so it happened pretty fast. I think it's only been closed a week or two.

I was going to say, I went there last Wednesday and bought some basing stuff with the help of the old friend, and no mention was made of a store closure.
Ironic that I also found a little comic book store/warhammer club near the Brea mall this week as well.

Really sucks if only for the fact that now Iv lost contact with that old pal of mine again...

The good news is that gamers think alike and tend to migrate to the next nearest store so you will probably meet up with him eventually at that new store.

Good news, the store essentially got transferred to Tustin, which is having a grand opening this Saturday.

If you go to the LA Battle Bunker or any other store, they can get you the address. What I can tell you is that many regulars are going to try out this new store, or have gone to the Brea or Battle bunker stores. I'm sure someone there knows your friend and can help you get in contact them again.
