I'm moving to Alabama in the near future (not sure which city), and was wondering if anyone on the forums played anywhere? I know a few stores that carry, but the turn out for games is sparse at those locations.

You can find a game at both Legions and Bud's Place in Birmingham. I believe The Bookmark and Hobbytown in Huntsville have gaming tables but the spaces are limited. Visions has tables in Montgomery. There is also a store in or near Gulf Shores. I think Tuscaloosa has a store, but I do not know the name. Dothan used to have a store, but I am not sure if it does now or not; Cullman used to have a store that recently closed; and Mobile might have a store, but I am unfamiliar with the scene there.

If you are close to the border with either TN or GA, then you would probably be within an hour or so drive to Atlanta, Chattanooga or Nashville.

Visions I knew of, and Tuscaloosa (Crimson Castle) has very few players. Was not sure about B'ham.

I live in Birmingham. Although my in-laws live in Fairhope, so I am down near your way occasionally.

We have not determined which city we will be living in. Depends on where I find a job. But since it would be no more than 4 hours drive to one point of the state to another, I will be up for driving to tournaments, or big gaming events. Once I know where I will send a PM. More than likely Montgomery or Birmingham.

Well i've recently moved to birmingham and its taken me a
while to find people that weren't already good friends, to
play 40k with. There is no longer a Hobby Town here either.
We do have two stores, though one i'm not quite sure of.
The one i do know of is Nord's Gaming. It's right across from
the food court in our galleria. They're on the expensive side
and don't have any gaming tables. But i'm sure it would be
to hard to find the other store around here.

Legions Comics in Cahaba Heights is a great place to play if you move to the birmingham area. There are lots of tables and great terrain pieces. The atmosphere is great as well as the owner, employees, and other players are all very helpful and nice people. You can buy drinks there as well. More and more WM/H players are coming in on Sunday if you play and I there's usually 40k or fantasy players on Saturday. DnD and pathfinder are played on wedensdays if you're interested in that. There's a great selection and if they don't have what you need you can just ask them to put it on their order form and they'll hold it for you... and that's just the gaming part!

Well, I will be moving to Montgomery (at least temporary) middle of August. Will be in Montgoermy until i either get a job there or find a job in Birmingham. But I should be able to drive up for Tournaments and causal games from time to time.

My best friend runs the Warhammer scene at Visions, and I played there for about 10 years until I moved to NC. Good crowd. If you move there, ask for Michael and tell him that Gabe sent you. He'll hook you up, and he has a great Warhammer room at his house. I know he's always looking for new players around there, and he does 40k, Fantasy and War of the Ring.
