Hello!
This is my first time sharing my figs and their paint jobs, Ive got lots of stuff in progress but wanted to get a feel for what others thought of what Im doing. I just got into
40k the same month Blood Angels was released, so went with the bandwagon and chose them as my starting army. I am currently working on a Blood Angels successor chapter I am calling "Nine". I am painting and modding them in such a manner that I can swap weapon loads out via magnets and call them Vanilla Space Marines if I wanted to. This is the first fig I've painted in 12 years, Ive done lots of reading and tutorial watching, so I don't think my skills are to bad, but a pro painter I certainly am not.
One of the things that I really loved was dremel-based battle damage, not just painted on stuff but actually drilling holes in the fig. So I went ahead and tried it and wanted to see what people thought. The 'nought isn't quite done yet, still some detailing and stuff to do, but the battle damage is done for the most part. I am going to theme the whole army as if they have been fighting Orks, lots of slugs in the air, no energy beam damage, no 'Nid claw marks or acid spits (I cant wait to dupe the acid spit thing with the dremel on a tank), just bullet holes of various sizes. I'm going for an metal look, I want the figs to look like they are metal, I've had people already who thought it was made of metal and were surprised when they picked it up.
The bullet holes go all the way through except for the ones on the Sarcophagus, which go in but don't fully penetrate. The ones on the shoulder are larger to represent a larger caliber weapon hitting the 'nought.
So tell me what you think, what you do, what you don't like, what you think I could do different or better. I would appreciate the input! I've got a baal predator and a Stormraven kitbash that are almost ready for the dremel, and want to make sure my technique is what it should be before I start in on em.
Thanx!!

P.S. If I botched my "put pics in forum post" roll I apologize, Ill fix it as soon as I figure it out.
