Anybody still playing this? I picked up the game for the tiles (thanks to HBMC for the recommendation) and the miniatures, but I found it to be a really fun and addicting game. Its almost like an RPG, but more like a RPG for dummies.

We play Deathmatch on occasion. Its pretty fun.

We usually use the "Hail to the King, Baby!" mods. Shotguns cause knockback, and everybody always has a chainsaw.

The insta-frag on teleporters can be brutal.

I have never played the Invader version of the game though.

I wish I could find the expansion.

The expansion occasionally appears on ebay. Also, if you click the "shopping" tab after entering it into a google search, you can find some retailers where it is still available. The real trick is finding it still in stock.

I lucked out, and a guy in Alaska had some that he was selling for 25 bucks plus 20 bucks shipping. I got it for half shipping since I live in alaska, making the total 35 bucks shipped. I haven't gotten it yet, but I hope it comes by friday!

You have to try the invader version of the game. It is quite epic. The invader can spawn enemies in addition to those that start on the map, making for some insane situations. (Ack! you just spawned an Arch Vile behind me when I'm dealing with a pair of Hell Knights? You suck!) The invader also gets Event cards, which add thematically to the game. Good example, when playing the marine I closed a door behind me to slow down a Hell Knight I was running from, and the invader played the Smash! card that destroyed the door! The Hell Knight caught up and fragged me by backhanding me into an acid bath.

Get a couple of players and have it out. The scenarios are actually quite fun, and I use a fan-created program called RanDoom V3 to randomly generate rooms as the players go.

I can't wait to try deathmatch though... waiting on the new expansion to get here for the extra marine figs!

I just got the game at Amazon for 29.99. It was a great deal as far as I can tell. Looking forward to playing some friends, though we may have to use a demon for the deathmatch.

Get the rules for the expansion from the FFG site. The deathmatch rules were great, and the mods are inspiring.
