So I've gotten my golden ticket for the Las Vegas ToS next summer and need to build a 1,500pt list that stands out due to the wacky scoring system. So I was thinking of expanding on my Counts-As Daemon army and building a Counts-As Tyrannid army using the same color scheme and style. So as I build some things I'll be posting them in this blog but this is going to be a long term project as I have almost a year to get this built. But I wanted to put my ideas to paper to get the ball rolling and see what people thought. So on to the list and then how I plan to build each unit in it.

List:

Tyrannid Prime w/Lash Whip, Bonesword and Devourer: I'm thinking of building a command style Tech-Priest. Much like my Daemon Princes in my other thread but scaled down and on a smaller base. With a shoulder mounted cannon and a com-link upgrade to represent his Synapse

3 Tyrannid Warriors w/Dual Bonesword, Devourer: Possibly Ogre based models. But might also consider something a little smaller as I plan to use Ogres for my Hive Guard for sure. I'm open to ideas on alternate larger models to use. The dual bone swords will be repped by using the Defiler flails. They will have shoulder mounted weaponry.

2 Tervigons: This will be a command and control walker. I'lll be using the lower body of a Defiler but with 2 extra of the standard legs to go on the front to give it a spidery appearance. I'll also use the rear gun platform of a basilisk and some building parts to build the fighting/command platform. There will be 6 models on the vehilce with 5 of them being magnetized to represent wounds. There will be a griffin mortar (Repping the large blast) with 2 gunners magnetized. A tech-priest glued on. A com-officer and 2 more command staff magnetized. I'll also be magnetizing a communication disk (probably the one from the Space Marine Vehicle sprue) which will be removable when the Unit can no longer create more "Termagaunts". There will also be a terminator locator beacon modelled onto it to represent placing the newly arrived reinforcements 6" away without scattering.

6 Hive Guard: Ogre based models. Each arm will have an integrated missile launcher. Their eyes will be convered by impants to represent the targeting ability. And there will be a missile launcher feeding rack stolen from SM Devastators. Possibly a gatling style missile launcher with a missile feeding belt. Probably a different unique conversion for all 6.

90 Termaguants: These will be standard guardsmen. I'll upgrading the lasgun to a carbine style look to represent the fleshborer. All of the guardsmen will have the cut-down com-backpacks with feeding tubes like my other infantry models.

2 Trygons: These are what I'm having the most trouble with. I'm thinking of using the Soul Grinder as a base but the model needs 2 sets of somethign to represent Scything Talons. I'd use a defiler helm for the head instead of the daemon body but I'd still need something for the arms. The other option is to use a defiler lower torso built like the above Tervigons. Then using a dreadnought torso with added Ork DCCW's to represent the scything talons but that model might be a little to short in comparison to a standard trygon.

So what do you guys think? I love the list itself for a 1,500pt list. And I think this would really make it stand out. Plus it'd be purdy and would expand my current Ad-mech range which I'd enjoy. My favorite army I've built so far

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So I've figured out how I want to build my warriors. I'm going to use the body of a Mega Armor Nob. I'll replace the head with the robed bionic head from the dark angel sprue. The arms will probably be Nob arms. Both arms will end with 2 shortened defiler whips to rep the boneswords and I'll mount a multi-barreled weapon on a armature from the top of the armor. Thoughts?

I'm currently house sitting so I can't work on a few demo models till at least tomorrow
