So, I wanted to start up something new to help keep me from burning out on my Space Wolves. I asked a friend down at his GW store and narrowed the choices down to Tau or Tyranids.
As I've already done enough armour plating to suit me for a while, it ended up being a no-brainer to choose 'Nids.
Here's a couple of pics of my first Warrior semi painted, I like how the colour scheme is turning out, kind of mixed it up a little bit - probably a splinter fleet or some such

Anyways, enjoy!

Looking nice. What are you planning in terms of army composition?

I wish I had a plan!! I kind of dove into this without planning of any kind - never the best idea! I like the big nasties and flyers alot. I'll have to have a really good read of the codex before I decide where I'm going with it I think

Any suggestions?

From a pure painting and modelling perspective, go grab yourself a carnifex at some point in time. The kit for that is simply amazing, great wealth for conversions etc.

As for 5th Edition units, I haven't really read it lol! Might go and do that now...

Have fun, the 5th edition 'nid codex is bigger than the IG.

Get yourself some Zoanthropes, I can't begin to tell you how much stuff fell to my Sorcerer spitting out str 10 ap 1 templates back in the day, and after eating the nerf dong of death for an edition or two the pie plate of alien bbq is back.

Thropes, hive guards, warriors, tervigons, DoM, gaunts. Those are apparently the best and work pretty well.
