Hey all,
Quite new to the hobby. I was introduced via the Dark Heresy pen and paper game (and to a lesser extent the Dawn of War video games) to
40k, and it wasn't long until the whole Dark Heresy players group had gone out and purchased the start of their respective armies. My personal preference was the Orks (how could you not love them?), and in 2 short months I've acquired 3
AoBR sets of Orks (with the plan to konvert 2 warbosses into big meks, and 6 Deffkoptaz into warbikes), 2 Trukks, 3 Killa Kanz, a 15 strong mob of Stormboyz and a Battlewagon. As a uni student on a tight budget, the
AoBR sets are a godsend, in addition to online retailers more or less halving the over-the-counter price.
A bit about me; I'm 20, studying a
BA at uni, and live in Australia. Really enjoying all aspects of the hobby so far, and am fortunate enough to have a tight bunch of mates that fell into the hobby at the same time, meaning getting together to play or paint is almost a tri-weekly occurrence. I'm looking to start painting my Orks soon (or repainting, as the first 20 were a bit dodgy), and looking forward to improving at both the modelling AND the tactical play.
Cheers,
Mike
TL;DR - Aussie student, new, plays orks, crap painter.
