Land Raider w Pintle Mounted Multimelta
Mission is rolled off and exactly like round 2 objectives first with victory points second, table corners 3rd.
I win the roll for first turn and deploy everything loading up the Vendettas with the Company Command and Platoon Command for alpha strikes with the Inquisitor in the last Vendetta.
Surprisingly he only reserves his dreadnoughts, terminators and sepeders and deploys everything else with land raider providing cover for rhino and razorback and a rhino on each side by the objectives.
Scout Moves
I move the Vendetta with the
CCS in it up so I can alpha strike his Land raider. Platoon command vendetta scout moves up to sit near the objective in the middle and can see his Razorback hiding behind the land raider. inquisitor vendetta scout moves to get a shot at his left rhino.
My Turn 1
CCS gets out 2 and moves 6 towards the land raider as the Vendetta moves back 6 and aims its las cannons at the left rhino. The inquisitor vendetta aims at the right rhino. infantry squads get in the chimeras and tanks just start rolling on up 6 to get better firing angles or to go for the middle objective. CSS issues a bring it down order to themeselves on the land raider hits 3 times rolling two 6s and a 5 for penetration and only getting a can't shoot on the glances. Manticores take their shots at the Raider and the first one gets 1 shot scatters off and immobilizes the Rhino behind it. The 2nd Manticore however destroys the Land Raider.
CCS Vendetta fires at the left rhino and shakes it.
PCS Vendetta wrecks the Razorback and the 5 marines pile out behind the land raider. Inquisitor Vendetta shakes the rhino on the right. Left las
plas vet squad shoots at the Rhino but misses.
His Turn 1
The 5 guys from the Razorback move on up to shoot at my Command Squad. He smokes with left and right rhinos his 5 marines shoot my command squad he puts a wound on the commander and thins the squad to the melta and the commander
My turn 2
CCS makes a run back towards their Vendetta. Tanks move on up to get better firing positions or head for the middle. Vendetta explodes the left rhino, Vendetta shoots at the Rhino behind the raider but it makes its cover save. Vendetta on the right shoots at the right rhino and stuns it. Executioner lights up the marines that shot my
CCS and then the
PCS sends them packing but they don't run far enough to get off the board.Manticores go for the Rhino behind the raider but miss.
His Turn 2
He tries to deep strike his terminators and a speeder in behind my vehicles but mishaps on both. terminators are delayed and I put the speeder in terrain and he takes a difficult terrain and immobolizes itself. Marines that ran move on up and shoot my command squad killing that last melta gunner and putting a second wound on my commander who is now down to 1 wound. las cannon from marines in crater misses
My Turn 3
Finally remember to move the las/
plas chimera on the right up. commander hops in the vendetta. move on up towards the objective. Executioner cleans up the Marines on the left with some help from the
pbs. massed multi lasers take out the marines that shot my
ccs. las
plas vets on the left kills the immobolized speeder. right vendetta explodes the right rhino. manticores go for the Rhino behind the raider again and miss.
His Turn 3
He deepstrikes the termies in behind the center objective and the mystics see him but the only thing that can shoot them is the las
plas vets. he deepstrikes the speeder behind me and well the mystics see it and melta
ccs blows it up. his on the right marines make a run for the objective. multimelta in the rhino behind the destroyed raider blows up my inquistor vendetta and I lose a mystic.
My turn 4
Manticores finally take out his Rhino behind the raider. I get out the
pcs and fire at his termies killing 1 and the Executioner shoots and kills some termies but the libby blocks the
pbs. vendetta on the right fires at his marines and so do the multi lasers on the right kill a few.
his turn 4
his dread comes on and multi melta immoblizes my platoon command vendetta. his terminator goes to bang on the
ccs vendetta and immobolizes it and takes out a las cannon. other termie slices into my
pcs killing 3 of them and I run and get away his librarian assaults my chimera on top of the middle terrain and wiffs.
my turn 5
chimera melta vet moves off the top and tries to kill his terminator but no dice 1 lives las
plas veterans fire their las cannons and shake the dread. vendetta and multi lasers kill a few marines on the right.
pbs tries to weaken resolve but is blocked by librarian.
his turn 5
his last dread finally comes on and immobolizes the
pcs vendetta. the last termi kills
ccs vendetta but dies to the explosion. librarian explodes the melta vet chimera, squad on left runs for the objective.
My turn 6
executioner kills a few on the left squad and he just happens to fail his leadership and run off the board. melta vets fire at the librarian and insta gib him. fire everything on the right at his marines and wipe them out. las
plas squads take out his dreadnought leaving him with 1 dreadnought left
his turn 6
fire his dread at my vendetta and miss.
I win 2 objectives to zero. with many more victory points. and 2 corners to 1.
MVP Executioner really cleaned up.
oops it did nothing: should have moved up infantry platoons to go for objectives.
game analysis
shouldn't have scouted vendettas so far forward to get shot by multimeltas.
should have used infantry in chimeras to go for the middle.
Post tournament changes to my list.
Drop
PBS back to 6 members and put the 2 flamers in the infantry squads and the last melta in the
CCS.
flamers would have been good vs the marines game1, lootas game 2 and vs guard game 3. 4th melta in
ccs would have helped not wiff killing the raider.
All and all I had fun despite having a terrible headache the whole day. Made alot of mistakes but live and learn.
