Mostly, on my phone.

Sorry, got to get this off my chest, the internet being a fabulous place for the free exchange of ideas and unqualified ranting.

Ordered some bits from letthedicedecide.co.uk; I've ordered off them before, and been pretty happy. Because I'm into random conversions, I decided to buy one of their SM Lucky Bags: £10, assorted bits "ideal for convertors" purportedly containing some rare or unusual bits. It's the latter I'm interested in, it's nice to see a bit and go "ooh!" However, IMO a dozen regular heads, some regular arms, plain pads, and a couple of torsos is weak, but if I got something "interesting" I could forgive that cos, hey, they've got to turn a buck. I don't consider a BT powerfist, a Sanguiary Guard head and a DA torso front very exciting, however. Oh, they also include interesting vehicle bits as well - I'm not convinced, however, that a standard vehicle cupola hatch is interesting.

Am I being unreasonable? Well, maybe, though I'm pretty hacked off.

But this is the clincher: if you're a registered user you can post a review, so, I did. It was thorough but fair (more balanced than the above tbh); when posted, got a little "your review has been received and will be posted when checked by an administrator." I went on the site this morning - and the review an item option has been removed. I feel that is very poor form.

So, yeah, ain't going there for my bits any more.

I've used them and they were good. All of the the stuff I wanted and next day delivery.

I was also tempted by the "luck dip" bag but thankfully by the sounds of it didn't go through with the purchase.

Unfortunately the problem is with this sort of thing they indicate a random bag o' stuff and thats what you get.

I do agree that they shouldn't have removed your review, as you say poor form the least they could have done is buy your silence first.

So now you can't post reviews of anything, or just that item?

Have you contact them about it?

So, from interest, what sort of bits would you consider to have fit the description?

I use them a fair bit and never had a prob, been really fast at sending stuff out and great communication. I would agree that having removed your comment on the product/offer is very unfair and is probably exactly what they needed to re-evaluate thier "bag o bits" offer. As if very generic parts then some what mis leading.

However no doubt is was damaging to thier sales so removed for that reason even if it was a fair reveiw. Had I not an over abundance of SM bits then I would of probably got the bag, glad I didnt as was a little tempted. Still if they do one for eldar I might still.

I don't think this should make you stop using them for your own exact orders, as at least you'll get what you order. They are still slightly cheaper than the other 2 bits sites I'm aware of(and no I don't own or work for them). As you've posted on a fairly large gaming site forum and word of mouth(or text of fingers) is all it needs to put some pressure on them to re-evaluate, as its already stopped 2 people that have posted here, not to mention non posters. Small amount agreed, but still lost trade.

I do agree, I would be pretty pi*ssed about it to.

It's a fair point. I mention those as they are the most exciting. I think that there has to be an element of desirability; to use a ccg analogy, you expect a mix of stuff, much of which you inevitably have, but usually one card in the pack - even if it's not the rare - will stand out as having some utility. For example, a baneblade heavy flamer (yes, I know it's an IG bit, I'm just for instance) is an unusual bit that's not something you commonly find, isn't high on resale but useful to a convertor - I've just tricked out my Sternguard thus. Arms, other than the standard 2, especially left, are good, as they give posability and dynamisim to many a model; chainswords and bolt pistols are easily removed, etc, etc.

Oh, and they seem to have disabled reviewing altogether.

Would just like to thank you for bringing this site to my attention it is great for individual bits, was using bits and kits but they take forever to replace their stock,

Quite! Actually, it IS a really good store, that's why I was so cross. However, there's been some resolution: they sent me an apologetic email, they've added new "rare" bits to the bags, and changed the description on the site substantially. Turns out being a moan pays off sometimes.

This is the opposite to what I hear about battlewagon bits' bags. Maybe try those ones?

Yeah I can see your annoyance, and I think it's well-placed. I've been tempted by the mucky dip on bitsandkits before now, but the cynic in me says "If they know they can get £5 for the Baneblade commander legs (or however much it is), they're not likely to put it in the lucky dip".
I always figured the lucky dips would be full of all the crap they can't shift - like regular heads and arms.
The good bits will sell regularly. I doubt they'd waste the profit margin putting Wraithguard back fins in a bargain bucket.

Good to see that they responded to you! Mix bags are always a concern... the only one I've done is the Chessex Pound o' Dice, if that even counts . I was very pleased, but then I just love dice, and getting a bunch of random ones is kind of cool!
