so ive had a trip out of 40k, missed a load of dexes.
ive updated my self with the new armies (only in codex form yet to fight any)
all i can say is WOW big changes, ditching my guard, going back to marines... but not using my deathwing anymore im going going vanilla second founding.. so...
Any big do's and dont's with new marines?
i have a 1500 point game tuesday vs orks (who i havent fought since second codex) so all advice will be greatly recived =D

Welcome to dak dak¡ All i can advise it to keep your distance as much as possible and bring ALOT of firepower and fire for that matter. For better advice i suggest checking out the Tactics section.

so my aim is if any big nasty orks (wagons etc) are on board, sterns melt em (flamers for troops) and then the rest of the army stays moblie (or takes objective and razor is hb support) and my dreads are two weapons platforms (worked very well for my deathwing).
the chap wont start on the board, i had 40 points left over so i added jet pack and storm bolter on him, melter bombed the sarges.
so yea there it is, il see how it turns out tuesday any advice welcome.

well first game back in was a lose.
I should have taken more flamers and given the chaplin some melee back up.
Razor backs kick ass now... oh and oh the sterns did very well, 1 whole loota squad and holding up a ork dread (in cc) for the whole game.

Welcome back to gaming. I came back earlier this year after a 11 year break, my last game before jumping back in was in April '99 w/ 2nd Ed. I've had a pretty difficult time transitioning from 2nd to 5th. Most of the people I am playing with got into the hobby during 3rd or 4th ed so our experiences differ.
I'm coming around though, and my CSM are doing pretty well for a mostly vanilla force and I'm going back to the rulebook less and less.
Good luck in your next scrap against those Greenskins. There's always another battle another day!

oh yes there will be also, im avoiding mega cheese, like a motf on bike with deathstorm droppods and 6 dreads, the club i play at wont like me much at 2000k
still my chapter are a collection of pre herasy goodies (main fluff)
