Ok I admit I'm on a Halo kick lately which is why most of my posts have been about Halo, what can I say I'm a fan.

Anyway I created this as a kind of rememberance thread to honor Bungie for giving us one of (if not) the greatest 1st person shooters of all time since they will no longer be making Halo games (hopefully those who've taken over won't gack things up). The way we will honor them (or at least how I'll do it if no one else does this ) is by listing our favorite/least favorite things from the games. These can be from any of the games (including Halo Wars) and you don't have to fill out every field.

Favorite enemy: Brute Chieftain, c'mon a big hammer and lines like "The pack will feast on you" what's not to love.
Least Favorite: Skirmishers, they creep me out

Favorite Character: Johnson, those one liners get me every time
Least Favorite: The Grave Mind, pointless much?

Favorite Weapon: Magnum, I'd take it over the Scarab gun any day.....well maybe not
Least Favorite: Plasma Pistol, I think it has a secret seeker mode

Favorite Moment: Peeing Brute in Halo 3s Ark mission
Least Favorite: Playing Reach and going into the covenant cruisers bridge on Legendary with red health and no ammo.

Favorite Vehicle: even though you can't pilot them the Pelican
Least Favorite: Banshee, if I had a nickle for everytime I accidently pushed X in mid air.

Favorite Quote: "I don't want to kill ya you're just to ugly to let live."

Favorite Mission: Any without the Flood
Least Favorite: Any with the Flood

Favorite Memory: Playing Halo: combat Evolved for the 1st time, 13 hours straight at a friends bday party while everyone else was asleep.
Least Favorite: Realising that Jun (the least coolest character in my opinion) is the last surviving member of Noble Team

Favorite Halo Girl: Whoever wins a mud wrestling match between Cortana and Kat
Least Favorite: Dr. Halsey, (word rhyms with witch)

Well that's about it. If you have any other favorite/least favorite moments feal free to add them.

Favorite enemy: Grunts. Not a single grunt, but a dozen or so to mow my way through.
Least Favorite: Flood pure forms, especially Stalker variants.

Favorite Character: Cortana, because if I could stick an advanced AI into my brain, I totlly would
Least Favorite: The Arbiter. I have zero interest in playing an Elite.

Favorite Weapon: Spartan Laser, no contest
Least Favorite: Halo CE and Reach magnums. Sidearms do not have scopes!

Favorite Moment: Big tank battle mission in Halo 3.
Least Favorite: The cliffhanger at the end of Halo 2.

Favorite Vehicle: The always reliable Warthog. I'd choose a Gauss hog over a Scorpion any day of the week.
Least Favorite: Ghost. If I can't bring a battle buddy with me, I don;t want to go.

Favorite Quote: Cortana has a ton of badass ones.
Least Favorite: I dunno. Probably some random Covenant gibberish.

Favorite Mission: The Silent Cartographer, or Long Night of Solace
Least Favorite: Probabbly one of the ones where they recycle one they've already used earlier in the game.

Favorite Memory: 22 straigh hours of Halo ODST Firefight with my best friend from Highschool.
Least Favorite: The cliffhanger at the end of Halo 2.

Favorite Halo Girl: Miranda Keyes. One hardcore chicka.
Least Favorite: Kat.

Least Favorite Mission: The Library from Halo 1. I did it co-op with my friend on an easy difficulty.
And it still took us almost an hour to do.

Favorite Character: Dutch. I just love what he says after completeing Uplift reserve.
Least Favorite: 343 Guilty SPark. I'd have been fine with Johson dying in a cool way. Instead this punk splasered him.

In her defence none of the friendly bots where actually usefull. I hated it everytime I'd drop an Elites shield with a DMG and right when I'd go for a follow up head shot they would step in front of me

Been on a Halo burn myself of late, after compleating Reach, I finally got ODST which I loved, and even picked up Wars. I've also been asking some family to get me the encyclopedia for a xmas prezzie, and plan on ordering the Legends DVD's and grabbing some novels at some point.

As to the questions..

Favorite enemy: Grunts when they run, I can't help but smile when I hear one shout 'He'll kill us all!'
Least Favorite: Those morphing flood things in Halo 3, the ones that are either short fast things, giant hard brute like things that spit flood spores, or most annoying the turret thing they turn into usually hanging upside down in some damned out of sight position when they start stripping your shield.

Favorite Character: Cortana, too many awesome lines to count
Least Favorite: Dr. Halsey, two scientific for her own good, although the diary that came with my special edition Reach was nice.

Favorite Weapon: Assault rifle with scope, love it
Least Favorite: Needler, theres just something I don't like about it when it fires

Favorite Moment: Probably the Scarab encounter In new Mombasa from Halo 2, you see it stomping around the streets, then after a chase, you jump on it and take it down.
Least Favorite: Flood Mission below, the whole terrain inside High Charity was ghastly, plus those annoying things that I noted for least fave enemy, gah, horrible part of the game.

Favorite Vehicle: Scorpion, tank beats everything
Least Favorite: Mongoose, other than for some kind of madcap jinks in PvP, what is it for?

Favorite Quote: Cortana has way to many, however my fave is the exchange that ends with.. 'Unfortunately for us both... I like crazy.' Although I always like the one at the start of Halo 3.. 'They let me pick. Did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever Spartan I wanted. You know me. I did my research. Watched as you became the soldier we needed you to be. Like the others, you were strong and swift and brave. A natural leader. But you had something they didn't, something else no one saw but me. Can you guess? Luck. ...Was I wrong?'
Least Favorite: Guilty Spark 'Hmmmmhmm... I am a genius.' his voice annoys the hell out of me, but I guess that was the idea.

Favorite Mission: Probably 'the Road' in Halo 3, although I really liked the Engineer escort mission at the end of ODST
Least Favorite: The Flood level in Halo 3 when you go down to find Cortana, the second time.

Favorite Memory: Overall: Halo 3 Announcement trailer, I must have watched that damn thing over one hundred times and it still gives me chills, hell I can quote Cortana's whole bit in that vid at the drop of a hat, it was just awesome.
In game, playing online with my two brothers, our first ever online game, 3 v 3 in Halo 3, we get a level with warthogs and mongooses, can't remember its name, really hilly, with a base either end. Anyways, we are totally lost so all jump in a warthog, me side seat, younger bro driving, the youngest on the gun. We drive full pelt over a hill, mowing down our first opponent, and me and my youngest brother gun down the other two in seconds. Seriously we didn't see them again for a couple of mins, I have no real idea what they where doing, but I imagine they where debating what kind of mad/pro players they where facing to have dropped them so quickly. One went afk, the other two finally engaged us, and whopped our butts to the end of the fight. But that first moment when we came over that hill, my fave moment ever.
Least Favorite: Yep that Flood Mission on Halo 3, yeah, it really is my bugbear, probably doesn't help that you have Gravemind shouting at you for half of it as well.

Favorite enemy: Elite Zealots in Reach. Those guys are badass.
Least Favorite: Skirmisher snipers, specifically the ones with focus rifles. They can feth off and die.

Favorite Character: Chips melon-fething Dubbo, the Australian marine.
Least Favorite: 2401 Penitent Tangent. Should have had a larger role in Halo 2's story.

Favorite Weapon: Needler. It's a gun that always makes me smile.
Least Favorite: Battle Rifle. It gave us the dreaded 'Noob Combo' and made competitive play dull as hell.

Least Favorite: 'Gravemind' on Legendary. Gak was impossible, I swear.

Favorite Vehicle: Wraith. Fweem!
Least Favorite: Mongoose. Flips like a melon-fether and comes apart like wet tissue paper.

Favorite Mission: Floodgate.
Least Favorite: Anders' Signal from Halo Wars. You start the mission with an Elephant, limited resources, Sergeant Forge on foot and a wall of Brutes, Grunts and Choppers ahead of you. I can't even complete that mission on Heroic.

Favorite Memory: Getting an assassination on the Elite Field Marshall with an energy sword. Felt good, man.
Least Favorite: My first game of SWAT. Whoever thought of that gametype needs a boot up their arse.

Favorite Halo Girl: Cortana. Damn.
Least Favorite: Miranda Keyes, for the aforementioned dialogue and generally not being that helpful.

Wy does everyone hate the Flood? In some cases they are more fun to fight than the covenant.

They're a pointless, repetitive and over powered enemy with almost no plot value. When Halo: Combat Evolved was released the ONLY thing that was disliked by most game critics was the Flood in all it's entirety from game mechanics to how it affects the story line.

Pointless? They're the whole reason for the events of the trilogy happening. If the Flood had never existed, the Forerunners would never have gone extinct and the Halo array wouldn't have had any purpose at all.

Just because they're the main reason for the game dosen't mean they're a good reason.

Now I have to play moderator for my thread because this is about Halo Favorites not the reasoning behind likes and dislikes so stay on topic

Favorite Weapon: Grenade Launcher. Deceptively powerful if used properly
Least Favorite: Plasma Repeater

Favorite Enemy: Brutes
Least Favorite Enemy: Jackals

Favorite Memory: Playing halo 1 for the first time for 12 hours straight
Least Favorite Memory: I don't have one

Favorite Vehicle: Banshee
Least Favorite Vehicle: Wraith

Favorite Level: The Maw
Least Favorite Level: Halo 3 and ODST final level warthog runs

Favorite Quote: "Do i look like an ammo bank to you"

Favorite Enemies: Brute Chieftans. I hate most brutes, but the Chieftans are absurdly fun to fight, especially in hand-to-hand.
Least Favorite: Flood. All kinds. They just aren't fun to fight. Infection forms have one tactic: Run towards you while firing their gun. And if they have a rocket launcher, it just becomes stupid. Carrier forms are annoying as hell when they sneak up on you. Infection forms too. Pure forms are pure torture (Bad pun), especially ranged pure forms.

Favorite Character: Johnson. Who doesn't like Johnson?
Least Favorite: Toss-up between Cortana and the Gravemind. GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD

Favorite Weapon: The Needler. I just find the concept ridiculously fun and weird. Focus beam comes close.
Least Favorite: Battle Rifle/Magnum. Overuse leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Favorite Moment: The food nipple grunt in Halo: CE.
Least Favorite: Halo 2, Legendary, Delta Halo. The scene with the jackal snipers and drones.

Favorite Vehicle: Mongoose. There's just something about speed...
Least Favorite: Anything that flies more than a foot above the ground.

Favorite Quote: None

Favorite Mission: Any without the Flood

Favorite Memory: Playing Halo: combat Evolved on legendary with my friend. Especially the Maw, where we just kicked ass and took names.
Least Favorite: Realizing that I wasted so much of my life on a generic FPS with an uninspired plot line. Then I started playing again.

Favorite Halo Girl: I once had an marine ally take out two Hunters with a shotgun (No, I have no idea how). She takes the cake.
Least Favorite: Cortana, because of Halo 3. "<INSERT PHILOSOPHICAL bs THAT IS SUPPOSED TO SOUND CREEPY BUT DOESN'T>"

Favorite Level: The Truth and Reconciliation. Sniper+awesome level-design=Oh YEAH! The Maw and Metropolis are also amazing. And the Covenant is pretty cool.
Least Favorite: Cortana. I really want to know what Bungie was smoking when they designed that abomination.

Well, I've really only played the first game (and read just about all the novels, so meh) but hey, worth a post.

Favorite enemy: Grunts - just gotta love an enemy that will start running away when you get close.
Least favorite: Hunters. Never been able to deal with them easily (shut up, like I said, only ever played Halo)

Favorite character: Linda. Because she managed to, with a sniper rifle, kill 3 Elites in Banshees (without destroying the Banshee) using ricochet shots...while suspended several hundred feet up from a dark catwalk.
Least Favorite: Can't really think of one...maybe 343 Guilty Spark. Good comedic value, but I hated fighting Sentinels in original Halo.

Favorite Weapon: Plasma rifle, by far. Can't say no to a gun that can knock down shields in one salvo.
Least Favorite: Rocket launcher. Just for the many, many times I've accidentally fired it into the corner of a wall or something and killed myself.

Favorite Moment: I really have to go with the aforementioned Linda killshots. What. The. Crap.
Least Favorite: The moment in The Maw (final mission of Halo 1) when Foehammer comes in for a landing and gets shot down by a Covenant. I liked Foehammer.

Favorite Vehicle: Three-way tie, oddly enough. Banshee (for trying to squeeze through tight spaces), Ghost (for awesome shooty power) and the Warthog - really, just for fond memories of playing Race in Halo CE online.
Least Favorite: Wraiths. I swear those plasma globs are homing.

Favorite Quote: "The Flood? Hell, Chief, it'll take more than that pack of walking alien horror-show freaks to take out Sergeant A. J. Johnson."
-Runner-up: "I can't be one hundred percent positive until he's been cleared in a medical suite, but he's obviously not a mindless, half-naked alien killing machine."

Least Favorite: The Library. Takes for-bloody-ever to finish.

Favorite Memory: Having my buddy come over and spend all night playing the game in co-op from start to finish (original Halo).
Least Favorite: Attempting to play Legendary. I swear I spent like two hours just trying to finish the Pillar of Autumn.

Favorite Halo Girl: Have to go once again with Linda. Because damn can she shoot.
Least Favorite: Can't think of any I don't really like.

Least favourite: Like Everyone else, those sniper/brute flood things.

Favourite line(s): tie (secret line from halo 2 only visible from subtitles) Elite leader addressing his men: 'We will wipe them like excrement from our Hooves!' and Arbiter 'Were it so easy!' and finally a cheesy one, Truth: 'When you saw Halo, were you blinded by it's majesty?'
Least favourite line: Anyhthing from sergeant Apone, sorry, Black guy, sorry, Johnson....

Favourite character: Arbiter. Keith David provides some of the best voicework ever in a videogame.
Least favourite: Miranda keyes, Kat, Johnson.

Treaured memory: Exploring all the hard to reach geometry on Halo 2's second and sixth levels. I swear it was about the size of GTA4!
Nightmarish Nadir: Attempting the level 'Cortana' on Herioc and failing. I remember dying so much in one place it 'stepped back' the checkpoint (a good feature i first noticed in halo 2 basically it steps you back a checkpoint if you're stuck in a 'death loop' i.e. checkpoint a second before a rocket hit etc)

Favorite enemy: Everyone loves Grunts.

Dude, the Halo rings would not even exist without the flood. That's the reason why the halo rings were constructed, remember? (duh?)

How do they have no plot value? They are THE BIGGEST driving force of Halo's backstory. Well, other than the forerunners.
