Click the link to see two beautifully painted armies fight it out on an equally beautiful table. I really wish these guys would just post their bat reps up here, especially since there site is add free and they aren't making any money off it, but such is life. Another good thing, this one doesn't feature Overwatch like all the rest of their battle reports so you get the flavor of a different player. The Imperial Fists look particularly nice.

nice pictures, amazingly painted armies. you cant chose the side and than chose to go second. you either go second and your opponent chooses the side, or go first and you chose the side. you cant do both.

Also....you popped smoke on DOW? that seems silly. Also reserving the TWC also seemed silly. I would have dropped the melta squad in my own board edge and not had them suicide for no reason. I would have kept everything back and waited for him to roll on, you can almost guarantee nothing will hit you in night fight if you stay far enough back.

Shame about the apparent unbalance of luck, but otherwise a good game with two lovely armies.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Mafty, this wasn't my battle report so I can't speak from the players perspective. But it would seem to me the smoke popped on turn 1 was to gain cover from the drop pod marines. I got the imppression that the playters forgot all about the night fight rules, but again I can't speak for what actually happened since it isn't my bat rep.

I found it hard to believe that lysander got his ass handed to him so easily. And those terminators....just wow. One TW killed them all? Really?
Still, a great report overall, even if the dice gods apparently preferred the furry ones.

Fantastically painted armies; I've actually never liked the sight of power armour on the field so much before. Great job to both generals.

Writing internet fiction is kind of like throwing out messages in bottles into a churning sea composed entirely of messages in bottles, the chances of of your message getting noticed and someone being sent out to rescue you is punishingly slim. But every once in a blue moon, someone who owns a big boat made of money finds your message and agrees to let you ride on his big boat made of money as long as you keep making messages for him.

Because Matt Ward didn't write our Codex. Otherwise we would have had Scything Tyrants with Scything Nidfists that can re-roll re-rolls and that can have a bodyguard of 10 Scything Guards and a Scything Prime that could ride in a Scything Pod. Or something to that effect.

If you're going to run vulkan instead of lysander then change to salamanders. If you were running true imperial fist you would of had the stubborn rule and I don't believe that you would of ffailed so many LD test. I agree with the assault termies being a waist of points, Lysander is great with say a 10 man devastator squad with heavy bolters, or 10 regular termies with two cyclone missile launchers. Or an allied army with say 30 death company with bolters. Don't go around saying that your playing Imperial Fist and then use the salamander rules just not cool at all.

Nothing wrong with it at all. Thats why its called codex space marine and there is not an individual one for fists or salamanders. The codex is set up and you are suppose to use its characters however you want to play them. Who are we to say that individual chapters do not have captains with with the same abilities as those listed for the "special characters"

Good report BTW.
