Alright, since my last post regarding Deathwatch went over like a lead balloon...
Anyone running an online game? Anyone interested in starting one? Really interested in trying it out, but no roleplayers around here.

Best of luck. In an online Dark heresy campaign myself. It takes a bit of getting used to but is fun.

You might PM Dastardly Dave about whether he ever plans running one.

The GM + group session is based over the internet. Using either the GM rolling dice or using a IRC or other tool that can show things are being done legally (one of the best tools for this is a dice server program that are usually free and easy to find. Or an IRC private room with dice functions built in. ) And some sort of chat client for communicating to the group if needed. It takes a few house rules and getting used to but can be very enjoyable.

We play our games over Dakka using the forums, and also over Skype (text chat only, not sound or video) and Vassal for when interactions get too fast paced for a forum environment. The second game is in my sig, and there is a link to the first (unfinished due to too many new players) game within that. We use a dice rolling website to roll dice, and the players are trusted to tell the truth about what they rolled. It works well, unless players drop out unexpectedly, at which point the game tends to stall unless the GM has a good mechanism for dealing with it. Still, it's good fun. If you're interested in playing then just PM me and I'll try to fit you in somewhere. Oh, and @ OP: There are currently no plans to run Deathwatch games, but it could easily be fitted into the ongoing storyline (the cell is Ordo Xenos). If you're really interested in an online game then I reccomend looking for games over at Dark Reign 40k or the fantasy flight forums for Deathwatch.

I've been in one of Dave's games for a few months now. It works actually quite well and we rarely need to bother with Vassal.

In all my time of D&D or Vampire though we have never used miniatures or anything like that. I never got the attack of opportunity stuff. At most we would draw a sketch of who is where etc so I doubt vassal would appeal to me lol

Thanks very much for the info. If you do indeed decide to start up Deathwatch over here, I'd be very, very interested. I'm not familiar with Dark Heresy - only have the Deathwatch book, and just picked that up on a whim - but if you end up needing more players for a fresh round with that system in the future, I'd also potentially be interested in that.
In the meantime, I'll poke around the sites you mentioned and see if I can find something Deathwatchy.
