To mark the release of Dark Eldar my
FLGS hosted a tiny 500pts 1HQ 1Troop tourney. Taking the oppertunity to practice with the guard list I wrote a few days ago.

The campaing involved quick battles where every death grants the opponent a slave on a 1-3. Not good foy my 36 man guard platoon.
Opponents involved 3 space marines, 2 blood angels (still popular?) 2 Eldar (Avatar Each!) Single
CSM, Tau and a brand new Dark Eldar player (Shockingly quick at glueing models you tell me)
First game was Drawn against Tau:
Crisis Commander
2x Hammerheads
6 x Fire Warriors
With tanks counting as two potential slaves this was 11 potential slaves to again my 36. I gave him first, second and third turn befor my reserve roll kicked in. During this he attempted to castle into the centre of the board. I got a decent side, with a crater in reaching distance. Everything piles in with the blob stringing out to avoid templates. The blob recieved a Bring it down but still proceded to miss with both grenades into the rear of one hammerhead. Captain Dirge (My Al'rahem) granted him self run like the wind but in his virgin battle without GreyKnight back up his PlasmaPistol got too hot, his leutenient however (Caroline) got a perfect head shot on the Crisis commander with his melta. A nifty roll and first slave to me. The command squad then moved closer along the crater.
Tau returned fire large blast templates killing and slaving a few men, but due to my cover save not as much as he could hope. Dirg and his command squad bolted up to a HammerHead, Caroline continues to impress and meltas a hole straight through the fish in a fantastic explosion and my second slave. Two succesful bring it down orders (Thanks to lord) had both
HWT wreck the other Rhino. Chasing down the final 6 with my blob secured a fairly even first game, but not before they murdered Caroline! I earned 7 slaves to his 6, not too impressive but at least im not last.
Second game was against a Smurf who actualy started boasting how he has tailored his army to own mine. Feeling oddily lucky with the dice this game got oddily interesting. I won roll off and let him deploy first. A thunderfire cannon (His counter to my army) sat smug in a building in the centre of his deployment, a 10 man tactical squad ran along the edge of his right flank in some sort of attempt to stop my flanking. Some sort of Commander on his own and a landspeeder or little care.
Here is a simple layout of turns
His Turn one: hand over to me
My Turn one: Hand to him
His turn two: Hand to me
My turn two: Failed reserve roll, hand to him
His turn three: Hand to me
My turn three: Failed reserve roll, hand to him
His turn four: Hand to me
My turn four: Failed reserve roll, hand to him (We were laughing at this point)
His turn five: Hand to me
My turn five: Forced onto the field, Dirge and Co opened up on his commander. Newly named Dorris reminded the commander that without eternal warrior meltas like him. First slave to me. I then charged his drawn out Tactical squad with my blob, killing and slaving two more.
Rolled for end of game, got a 2. Hilarious win to me with 3 slaves to his 0. His failed to kill any of my guard.
Last game of the day (Realy busy and just two playing tables) had me pitched against the Dark Eldar. Two raiders full of some spikey elves. One lot being more deadlier in combat due to the Archon.
His combat to my outflanking was to hold in reserve. Yeah I didnt think it was smart either, when you have the potential of coming late or split up to my concentraited team. With nothing on the board till turn 3 Dirge arrived and hunkerd up into a large crater near my back right corner. A bad move on hindsight. Dirge in closest to his side, then the autocannons, then the lascannons finanly the Blob. He arrived the next turn to turbo boost both raiders right up to me. Drige dealt with leftmost raider, letting Dorris show just how good a lone melta gun does when you name him. Raider exploded dumping the Archon and Co.
HWT's again with bring it down sunk the second raider. My blob attempted to rapid fire the weaker squad but failed to make any real damage. He fleeted and charged with force, Achon and Co assaulting Dirge and my Autocannons. Second squad coming throuh terrain to multi charge my Lascannons and the Blob. Dirge was horrbly cut down in a swathe of poison weapons, but alas never becoming their slave. Dorris too had the same fate. Autocannons are quickly tabled. The blob battle was however a different story, I actualy won by 2! Broke the Dark Eldar! Then succesfuly chased them down! My turn involved a lot of nasty shooting into the archon squad, about 32 shots to hit 28 hit. But only 4ish wound... His turn a slow grind of melee happens to where the Commissar swatted many spikey elves before his meat sheild ran thin. He was then caught to be forever tortured as the Archons slave.
Counting up the Slaves, he took and impressive 19. I still won 11 slaves! This raised me to 21 and a third place over all. Second place was the
CSM who played 4 battles so I could live with that. First of course was snatched by the Dark Eldar player Jake, given the rep for being the only player who could tough my guard (Flatterd) His prize? A 5th Ed Dark Eldar codex of course, fitting =D
