This is the Terminator Librarian form the new Space Hulk.I decided to try out a new paint scheme, something other than the usual SM colors. I think it worked out well. Pic isnt the best, camera is sketchy when trying to shoot minis. I may hit a couple of the details a bit more, but basically Im calling it done. Getting ready to do more in the same color.

C&C always welcome.

IMO take a watered down black or dark brown wash to the entire thing. It'll give depth without taking away any detail.

very nice armour. the face could use a bit more detailing or a wash or something.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Already has had a black wash. The pic isnt the greatest, so it kinda hides a bit...good and bad i guess lol. I havent mastered my camera yet, sometimes it takes great photos of minis, sometimes it doesnt. I need to learn the manual focus settings.

The gold could use a wash or some details picked out in other colours to break it up a bit, as now it looks more like a statue rather than a person.

Face just has a base and dry brush. Im terrible at faces, hence the reason I try to stay to helmeted marines. SOmetimes just cant avoid it, like with this mini.

I do really love this one though...there is something very serious about the pose. Give the impression business is about to be handled.

heres a pic of 2 more SH Termies that are only base coated, to give you an idea what the gold looks like to start with.

Its actually a very challenging paint job. The gold isnt a hobby color, its a high temp automotive engine paint. I happened to have a nearly full can (spray) sitting around and decided to try it out. Most difficult thing is there is no brush on version, so I have to be extremely careful about slips and mistakes...not really possible to touch it up.

if you do ever need to make a touch up.. ive found that sparying some into a paper cup can give you enough for a touch up.. like spray it till it pools and you should be good... just remember that it dries fast

I like the colors and from the look of it your a pretty neat painter. The only criticism I have is that the model is lacking any depth or highlights. I would recommend giving the model a washe of delvan mud...It will work great with the gold, fill in the recesses to add tone and you can always go back over it and pic out the gold again. You should also add some highlights to the robe. This model could go from good to great with just some simple work like that!

HMMM your finished libby does look a bit flat and unshinny which is surprising because your base coated termy looks very shinny I would try being carefull with the washes to leave some parts unwashed this could seriously help with having shinny upraised areas, either that or try the non metalic metal techniques?

That's a really nice vibrant gold you've got from that spray!
I'm not sure the blue works so well with it but I guess as he's a libby there's not so much you can do.
I think gold tends to work better with a muted red...

that gold is really cool. Something to add to the arsenal for sure. To try and get some to put on a brush i recommend using isopropyl to thin it and keep it in a liquid state. I've done this before with blood angels red spray.
