So, after searching around and hearing some good things about the Black Dragons (www.the2blackdragons.com), I decided to contact them regarding having a miniature made to match my Warhammer Online character--just a little treat for me. This was some time around the first week in September, and the representative I emailed with informed me that production would begin on my model on the last week of December.

On December 9th, I was informed that they would be beginning the model the last week of December as agreed. Since then, I have received nothing from the company despite asking for an update, and that worries me slightly. I have made a payment of half the cost of the model in mid September, and I dislike being scammed.

So what gives? Am I overreacting here or have these guys started taking money and running?

Dude, Christmas holidays!

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

If someone was planning on not working over the holidays, why, then, would they give a start date of "last week in December?"

Depends when you asked for the update, if in the last few days I wouldn't worry yet.

Worry if you've not had a reply after a a couple of weeks, or a month, but as Fifty wrote, it is Christmas, if they decided to go home etc, they may not even have access to their emails for a week or so.

If they're starting in the last week of december then they began sculpting sometime between monday and today.

They may be waiting till they have something to show you.

Well, turns out the model was finished either last night or this morning, and it looks great. A little more notification would have been a very good idea, but I want to apologize for jumping the gun.
