I thought sites weren't allowed to use online shopping carts with GW product. Thats why thewarstore only takes phone orders. Anyone have any feedback on dicebucket.com? Thanks

It's only the US that has the prohibition on online shopping carts... and it only (and really can only) affects businesses buying directly from GW.

So either GW haven't caught up with them yet, or they're not buying their stock directly from GW.

Yeah I saw the banner ad on here and checked out the site and they state they are based in the Central U.S. I might have to check them out.

??
Really?

I thought GW also had a deal with their distributors that the distributors (a) couldn't sell to an online-only entity and (b) had to require anyone selling online NOT to utilize shopping carts.

I thought the no-cart thing only applied to brick and mortar stores w/ websites?

Per GW rules (as I understand them), only B&M stores are supposed to be able to run online sales.

If they do, it would still only apply to US-based distributors... and to be effective, would require those distributors to actually check up on their customers. Which I very much doubt actually happens. Most retail distributors have enough on their plate without wasting manpower searching the web to find out if their customers have set up websites...

How dare you respond to me with logic?
: )

Should've been clearer. I was only referring to those within the US.
Don't know about the "checking up on." I have zero experience with distributors.

I would pretty much guarantee that at most, whatever distributors GW stuff goes through would have a clause in their contract saying 'Don't sell GW stuff through a webstore' and that's as involved as they would get in the whole thing. Actually enforcing it would be left up to GW...

Battlewagon Bitz, before the Warstore bought them out, got away with having a webstore for a year or so, IIRC.

And yeah, I realised that you meant US distributors specifically. My point was that those rules wouldn't apply if the store was buying their stock direct from the UK, or through some other non-US-based distributor.

I bought 3x kan boxes and about 9x boyz boxes from them right before Christmas. Took a few days longer for them to ship because of Christmas, but the communication was great and they even upgraded the shipping just so I would get my order before Christmas for free. I would recommend.

Also, miniwargaming has a check out cart, and they are Canada based. So I guess the no cart in US thing makes sense. Sorta.

Interesting concept. TBH, I hadn't even considered that possibility.

Yeah, I don't know about limitations on selling, but I'm 90% positive on:

1) U.S. Distributers must have a B&M storefront (otherwise my FLGS would probably not exist)

and

2) U.S. Distributers are not allowed to publish individual pricing online, which indirectly kills the cart system...although that may also be a seperate restriction.
