Greetings,

This is going to be where I put all of my armies pictures, and WIP, right now I have Salamanders that are over 75% done, that I will post, and then Dark Eldar that have yet to be primed!

I just finished a Wych, tell me what you think, the skin seems real tough to get right!

Looks pretty good overall. I want to see it in person though. Did you get new brushes yet??

I'm being picky. Try to take better pictures. Use the camera in Macro mode with no zoom. Set it on the counter a few inches from the model and use the 2second timer so that you don't move the camera when the picture is taken.

Colors-wise, I like the purple, but I think that the hair needs to be a contrasting color. Maybe bright green (to match the gem on the gun) or white (to match the leg bandanna thing).

The skin looks kind of flat, but that may be just the picture.

Thanks, I got a fine detail brush which I have been using, I'll get more at the next tournament though.

As for the camera, I will try that, it is on macro setting but I used the zoom, so I'll put it flat on the table next.

I was actually thinking of white, but I like the idea of green I'll try both out.

The skin, I'm not sure about, I'll get a better picture, there is darker parts in the crevices, and shadow, then lighter parts on top.

Thanks a ton for the advice.

No problem. I was also thinking of yellow for the hair/gems might work. Yellow contrasts with purple and green contrasts with red.

Head gems as in the barb through her hair?

No, the gem on her gun or if there are any on their uniforms.

Ahh! I see what you mean, i misread, I thought you said the "Hair Gem", not sure what color I want to do for the hair, yellow is a possibility, you suggest the same for the gun?

Whatever you think. I have never been a fan of colored weapon casings (like a lot of Blood Angels marine's weapons have red casings), but done right it could look good.

You just don't want to add in too many colors. You pretty much want 3-4 main colors that would stay pretty consistent throughout your army. The armor is purplish, the leather is black, the skin is skin-colored, and the hair/gems/token-items are another color.

Adding too many different colors can be distracting, I feel.

Sorry for the long wait on an update, but here it goes...

I have two methods of painting as of now. Tell me which you like more. (The hair is now green.)

These are not done, I simply want C&C on the Armor. (The camera makes the highlights look real thick, in reality they are not.)

A.

B.

From those pictures, I like the first way better. It could just be that I don't like the bracer in the second one.

I think I do too, I believe I used the approach you told me about, I washed the armor with Badab black to give it some shadow though. Thanks again.

Figured I'd post a Dark angel I painted up to switch it up with my Marines, Wasn't using this vet for anything so I gave it a shot. (Hes still not done though, I have to clean a few spots up, and paint his bolter, seals, etc..)
