Hi all,

These are my first Warhammer figures that I've painted. I've painted them using with the starter paint and a few extras including Devlan mud. I'm thinking that a lighter green might help highlight the skin a little but more.

I appreciate any comments.

Many thanks,

Ben

Have to concur with above post, prepping models is a pain, but you will get far better results if you do it. You painting is very good, exceptionally so for a beginner, well done

I hate you.

Looks very good. Your metallics are shaded excellently.

Thanks for all your kind replies. I used to build plastic model aeroplanes when I was younger but haven't done that for 10 years.

I'll try drilling out the gun barrels. I've got a very small drill bit for my electric drill but do you actually use an electric drill? It's not the safest thing to do.

The weapons were painted with gunmetal, given a wash with a tiny drop of flesh on the brush which is then dipped in the water pot to thin the paint (the guy in Games Workshop told me to try that) and then devlan mud on top.

I need to paint the DeffKoptas still, that'll keep me busy for a while.

Don't use an elictric drill or dremel tool to drill the barrels!

Invest in a small hand drill, or pin vise drill. I bought one 15 years ago, back when GW made good metal ones and it has been the best purchase in my hobby career by far!

Pin Vise (or Pin Vice) is a hand held tool for drilling very small holes in very tiny surfaces. You'll want to get a single small drill bit to use with it.
