Hi there.

Many months ago Shawn over at Blue Table Painting announced that they would be hosting a weekend event with themed scenarios on custom terrain and a massive Ork army as the centerpiece. I live in Denmark, so didn't really get pumped (except in anticipation of the videos it would produce), but it just dawned on me that no one has mentioned this on Dakka. So, here you go:

http://bluetablepainting.blogspot.com/2011/01/valhalla-now-open.html

some of the headlines include:
- Giant, custom terrain pieces (I've seen a multi leveled plateau in one of his videos)
- Luxurious accommodations
- Custom stompas
- Many, many orks and Ork vehicles, including vehicles with double-deff rollas customly build by BTP
- Battefoam will be showing up (I think I heard in one of the videos on YT, can't guarantee it)
- Its held in Utah

And a little youtube with some of the stuff they are making for it, and a promo - the good stuff starts about 5mins into the video (also included in the link):

I think that looks great. I often watch the Bluetablepainting videos and like Shawn and co's enthusiasm and light hearted attitude.

It's a bit too far away for me but I wish them well in this. Sounds fun.

BTP is one of the longest running commission painting companies online (if not THE longest), and have generated a lot of good will within the gaming community.

If I was closer to him, I'd definitely be there. Shawn's a great guy, and I think very highly of him.

I wish them much success in this undertaking.

I have been wanting to take part in this event since I herad about it (when the vid was first released), but I doubt I ever will, because 1 i'm stuck in the UK for the forseeable future and 2 it costs a bomb. What is it like $1k for a standard ticket? I love BTP and their work is amazing but the prices, it's enough to make some grown men cry out in dismay. It'll be one hell of an event though.
