This is going to be my
WIP log for all of my various armies I am running. I've previously shown my unpained space wolves, but as I'm currently running 3-5 projects at the same time, and get bored easily, I thought that I'd put it all in the same spot.
Anyway, this is what I've been working on recently. Pictures taken on the iPhone due to battery charger being somewhere that I can't find it.
These are my Deathwatch Characters for the Fantasy Flight Games
RPG. The first is Alexis Pomerov, Librarian for the Shadow Crusaders Chapter - an Imperial Fists successor. Made using the new Rites of Battle create your own chapter options. This is a fleet based chapter, specialising in Drop Pod assaults. The chapter venerates a Master of the Watch who assaulted an eldar craftworld, and subsequently the Eldar hate them.
They have unusual weaponry - so he is pictured here with two force swords, which he takes into combat. There is a bit of work to do on this guy, but I like the beginning. The Sowrds are from the Grave Guard 2 handed weapons, the head from the ravenwing kit, the legs from the Death Company kit, with the torso from the regular
tac squad. Deathwatch shoulder pad, and the other pad is a filed down chaos shoulderpad.
The other guy is the first Deathwatch marine I made - Skypio Pollensius - from the Golden Scorpions Chapter - a successor chapter to the Blood Angels. I must note that all of this was randomly rolled, it is sheer luck that I didn't get the Night Knights chapter, or the Death Deaths chapter or something. They come from a medieval world, and are siege specialists. They have no techmarines, instead each company has marines that have trained extensively as artificers. This character is an assault marine, and I've given him a Bretonnian head to go with the death company legs, warriors of chaos sword, blood angels shoulderpad and jump pack and a regular chest. The shield is a bretonnian peasant shield with an empire state troop shield on top. I'm still not sure about the shield on the shield, so to speak, any suggestions?
These will be painted up today, hopefully.
Next is my imperial fists - I've finally painted up a squad, with 3-4 more of
tac marines to go. I'm working to get this technique down pat, as it took several goes to get it right across all 10.
So in the last two pictures, you can see my Commander (maybe company captain, etc) of the imperial fists, and in the last picture is the beginnings of a violators marine.
Still not sure what to do with the Violators, but I'm thinking of Mordian Blue > Enchanted Blue x2 > wash > 1 Enchanted Blue + 1 Bleached Bone prelim highlight > Enchanted Blue + Space Wolf Grey final highlight
Finally in this last photo, you see yet another imperial fist, next to an Angels Sanguine Death Company marine. Now with this I;m finally happy with the white - it is white undercoat, white paint on top (for grip for the wash) then a thorough but thinned badab black wash. Touch back up with white again, then hit the entire thing with an extremely thinned version of Asurman Blue wash to give it a tint. The black half I'm still unhappy with - I think I mgiht go with a 50/50 black/regal blue for this as otherwise its too ... dull.
Again, any suggestions open.
Ok, I lied about the finally part. This is my Space Wolf Lord, whose a
WIP. If you haven't seen the size of my army, this is about the half of it
I've changed the armour style around some so now it is a adeptus battlegrey > medium boltgun metal drybrush > blue wash > rehighlight to get a gunmetal/steeldust type of look to them, but the rest is staying.
Again, touch up work to do, but the Wolf Lord is on his way
.
If you like or dislike anything, let me know. Almost everything I got is a work in progress, so I'll happily listen to what you have to say.

Ok, time to add some more stuff that I've been working on this arvo - at least taking photo's of.
One of my Venerable Dreads. I must note, everything here is painted to a quick tabletop standard, I'm in the process of cleaning all of this up, but I had to get it ready for a tournament.
Wolf Guard Terminators. Not the best photo of them, but again, camera phone. Lame.
More grey hunters. Decal and wash/wash cleanup to go.
This is a 5man razorback squad - their ride is back in the workshop. Note the blue marks - damned blue wash leaves this everywhere. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so light.
Need to fix that up, though i'm unsure what to do , apart from perhaps run black wash in where required.
This is a 10 man rhino squad - less wash issues with this bunch, but some of the models are olders/resprays, so the detail isn't so great on a couple. But thats what you get for recycling old ebay models.
Some more closeups - this is probably my favourite space wolf grey hunter
And some others
Finally, an Angels Sanguine Veteran, and an Inquisitor :
Note the pale skin and red eyes - its an effect I am going for with all bare headed models.
Now for the Inquisitor
I seem to get 70-80% done and then get bored - this blog is my attempt to get myself motivated to finish an army. Well, lets see how we go with that.
