What I like best about it, is that even though you use a very brown palette, it some how manages to not look muddy and boring.
It's very realistic and dwarven looking without being overwhelmingly drab or confusing.
Great contrast.
Very hard to do with that type of palette.
Gratz.

Thanks guys.

Matphat - That was indeed the intent. I don't like the Snow White entourage look tbh, and it was fun to see my vision of them unfold aver the last however long. Simple muted earth tones and plenty of contrast to help keep things tight. The contrast against the metallics are where the scheme really comes through I think. Im certainly happy with the outcome.

*Update* If anyone is interested they're now up in the Dakka Swap Shop here - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/323907

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Wow, they look excellent. One of the best armies (of any kind) I have seen in a while.

Cheers guys!

S_P - At the mo i'm not counting it as anything as they have never been gamed with, though the SB's were my initial thoughts too tbh. Given the size of it It could equally serve as any of the special lord units I spose.

Thanks for the comments.

Great work. I agree thats you've done a great job on the earthly colours. Love the bear too. What prompted you to think of doing that? Whatever the reason, I'm glad you did

Cheers guys.

Taffiarty - Whats that btw mate, did you mean the bear or the muted colours?

The muted colours were because Dwarves in the grimdark cheese of the WH world shouldnt look like Snow Whites posse.

The Dwarf on the bear was because he was the best option for a Lord that I had available as a good mate o'er the net and far away sent it to me to complete the army.
A bit of converting and sculpting and he looked the part without too much hassle. Well, apart from Scibor minis being utter gak to prep-up ready for painting.

Oh wow! Wish I had the skills to paint like that. Then I'd have to get the patience to paint a whole army like that!

Real nice work, would love to play against an army that looks so pretty

Cheers Baron von Felixton.

I'm happy to report that my Stunties won the Wamp forum Army challenge by miles, with my Space wolves coming in second too!

The Stunties also won third in the best of show cat, and the combined prizes being a Felderr case (handy) and a set of Dwarves painted by my childhood hero, a certain Mr Mike McVey!

Wheres the *stoked* Orkmoticon when you need one, eh?
