Well, with the new OnG release I decided to get back into the green thick of things. I however went a little crazy and ended up ordering a rather large lot of things:

100 Savage Orcs
2 Arachnarok Spiders (which later turned into 3 as someone sold me one for 20% off)
Wurrzag
And the odvious army book/magic cards.

I ended up spending around 11 hours this past saturday building Savage Orcs (which still have all the mold lines on them! They are only built right now) and am still working on my Arachnaroks.

Along with all my new goodies, the biggest part of my army as well as the most played, is the 200 Orc Boyz and 100 Black Orcs, giving me a total of 400 Orcs. I do like my WAAAGH's to be big and green. Literally. With all these Orcs I of coarse have various warmachines, characters, mounted units, etc; yet in all honesty I never really end up using them, as I prefer to have a rather fluffy (if not completely ludicrous) WAAAGH and surge forward with my 8 units of 50 Orcs!

The second spider: Completely reposed the legs, had to cut up 5 leg joints in total.



The third spider: Once again reposed the legs but also restructured the mouth which will soon get GS work.

So when will the painting begin?

Right after I finish painting my Troll Army for the upcomming doubles, the plan is to get this army (the 400 Orcs at least, along with some other stuff) painted before the end of April. It won't be the best painting, but I will definitely go back and tighty up the paint jobs after the deadline is met.

That's what I like to see! The massed ranks of unpainted grey and the frivolous waste of good hard-earned cash on toy soldiers

Will be following with interest, as a side note, do you have any pictures of the savage orcs on sprues/size comparison with 40K boyz/nobz? Thinking of picking up a box for some madboy conversions, and want to make sure everything will go to plan (specifically, is the unit champion big enough to pass as a warphead)?

Thanks guys, it will definitely be a challenge getting them all painted to at least a table top standard before the end of April, especially since all of next week will be spent painting my Troll army!

I can try to get you a picture for size comparison for the next update Zero. I would definitely say the Savage Orcs would work though. Mainly because of them standing strait and not hunched over like 40k boyz, but Ill definitely get you pics.

Well first off, I apologize for the major lack of updates, I soon after posting the thread had to paint my Troll army up for a tourny, which took up most of my time, but alas, I am now making a deadline for my OnG army (or 7,000 pts of it anyways).
Since my previous update however, I managed to crack some skulls and win over a few more tribes, or at least 50 Arrer Boyz, 50 Orc boyz, 70 Night Goblins, 30 Boar Boyz, and a bunch of other various guys.
So as of about 2 weeks ago (well, more like a month ago, but I like to procrastinate!) I had to start rushing on this army to paint up everything you see in the upcomming pictures for a 7k game against my local store manager where we agreed to have it all painted.
This was a terrible decision on my part but if nothing else its incentive to paint up the army. (The game is this saturday and I still got 50 black orcs, 50 orc boyz, and the gobbos. The Boar boyz wont get done sadly so I will have to swap them out for Trolls)

Without any more delay however, here are some pictures of the army. If time allows me to do so, I want to try and take some actual pictures of the few painted characters I have, since they are the only thing in the army thats worth taking pictures of!

*Is it wrong that Im always looking on trade forums/ebay to try and find more Orcs? Clearly 500 foot sloggin' Orcs isn't enough!!

Another unit filler, an Orc catapult. It still needs to be finished and it might be hard to tell but theres even two goblins pulling it!



Yet another unit filler, this one for my Savage Orcs. An impaled stegadon head. I had like 8 Big Stabbas left over so why not? (When I get time, I will have a Savage Orc holding it aloft, BSB maybe?)

Looking good! I especially like the stegadon objective marker, however can I suggest giving it a chunkier spine? looks kind of weedy for a dinosaur spine!

Loving the mass of orcs! But I have to admit, I'm more interested in seeing your other P&M blog updated with the painted trolls, particularly your recent jugger conversion (and maybe an army shot)
