I know some of you were following my flesh tearers Blog with a lot of interest, but as I was happily chugging along something stopped me dead in my tracks. Our last local tournament, 14 players: 7 blood angel players. This of course put the kabosh on my future endeavors with the boys in blood.

I instead went back to my favorite 3+ save army: Space wolves. These are the "Death Jackals." Basically they are an Anubis (ancient egyptian) based chapter created in the last founding for the soul purpose of guarding tomb worlds and recapturing lost artifacts for other chapters that are indisposed with other matters. This army does not use thunderwolf lords with wolf claws and wolftooth talismans for the wolf time, the leadership is based around rune priests.

First up are the "High Priests" the one on the right is the test for my paint scheme. I used the wolf heads and mish mashed the staves which turned out well.

Next are the scouts nothing overly dramatic here.

Now this is the army I'm already proud of and have only built two models and not even to 100%. I'm still working on the fluff but bascially this is a lost warsphere crash landed on a world wiped clean by the tyranids. That's all I've got for now on the fluff....

First up is the beginnings of the Shaper (Counts as Straken)

Next is my crown jewel, this was a true "Level up" Model (Counts as Guardsman Marbo). I'm at a loss as to the right arm. Also I realise that the helm looks a little big but that's only because the body is leaning so far forward. After several months of losing warriors to an unknown and powerful enemy *name to be determined* sent out his best warriors. Only one returned and he was barely kroot anymore, now he only hunts those he deems a challenge.

I like the idea of Egypt themed SMs. You should GS some longer ears, pointing upwards, onto the priests to make them look more like jackals though. What's the colour scheme going to be?

In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there is only Devlan Mud Agrax Earthshade.

I think the scheme will be that desert khaki color with red shoulder pads and black trim. Good idea on the ears.

I think a little black should be thrown in. Jackals/Anubis are pretty dark. maybe just for helms, or exclusive to Rune priests?

just a thought.

Agreed, however after seeing the new tombkings I'm dangerously close to doing the whole army in a gold with Red and Hawk Turquoise blue accents.

Sooooo here are the weapons on the models.

First up are the wolf guard with frost weapons. Good stuff, good fit.

Mark of the Wulfen, gigantic! I will be redoing the second guy from the right as his sword isn't even close to being even and I don't like his stance.
