I was wondering what metals and gems would be used to make an inquisitor Seal. I believe in one of the novels by Graham Mcneil its described as having ruby, but i dont know the exact description and dimensions.

I would like to craft a relatively authentic Inquisitors Seal for cosplay at conventions. I have a fist sized chunk of black obsidian with thin dark brown swirls. And about 4lbs of raw emerald gem stone (several promising crystals in the mess). I was thinking of carving the obsidian to 0.5"X2"X2.5" (might need a bigger piece...) and then cut the emerald crystals and patch work them ala stain glass style into the obsidian to form the I. I might also have lying around a few pieces of human bone to carve into the skull (a dentist botched the work on some of my teeth, kept the pieces. dont know where they are tough). Then was thinking of some gold work onto the piece, but lack the funds for such a material.

As an object, I believe they vary... they can even look quite innocuous; what is a constant between them is the ability to *PROJECT* an Inquisitorial symbol.

Thought I'd give the whole 'Blogger' lark a go...
-Cadian 812th (rotting in a cupboard)
-Dark Angels 3rd Company (in disfavour, eBay?)
-Irun'Mahn (pretty and deserve love; why aren't I giving them it?)
-Draigo 'n' his Merry Band (to be continued) - How to magnetise Grey Knight strike squads' two-handed and special weapons
-The Maggot Host
Klan WurldWaagh -Are now in my first P&M blog! If you like the idea of WW2 and Orks, please take a look...

In Eisinhorn and Ravenor the Rossette is a wooden seal with a few precious gems here and there. very spartan actually.

it contains a mini cogitator that can project the Inquisitor's Rossette, gives him Access clearence, the ability to hack cogitators, access his accounts...

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

seems my design is just as valid as the others then. =) Now if i can just get it to project a hologram... or get a generic laser pointer and have it project an image. perhaps something like Grey Templar's avatar pic.
