Hello this is my 1750 blood angels tournement army and everything in my entire army lights up with leds! even my basic troop!

one question: you're putting up a light-up army for sale, and the one model that does not light up you intend on charging "a nominal fee" to activate it? may want to recheck that thinking...

I really like this army. I think the paintjob is really nice, and the LED work is some of the best I have ever seen. You have put alot of work into this. The only thing that turns me off are the extensions to the bases...they kinda look like they were an afterthought

@solofalcon1138 no i think you might have misheard that none of them are "not activated" the whole army already lights up i was talking about when the batteries eventually die. these batteries last about 2 years or so literally becuase of the way i built them and designed them and ive only had them for about 4 months . So im not charging them to start them up or something and they still have like literally a year and 8 months left in them... i know this becuase the assault squad which ive had for literally 2 years now have yet to die for the battery life. i was saying if after they die i can still rebuild them with new batts then they would be good for like another 2 years or so. also the death company are the only ones that are enclosed like that i sorta got stuck with that setup becuase of the custom bases i used it sucked... took about 3 months to make all of my death company.

@jburch yeah it was actually the battery packs that make them that big this is actually version 3.0 i tried pvc piping for a smoothing look but couldnt find anything that was the same radius as the base also tried plasticard and that just totally failed so i resigned and made them out of modeling clay it took about 5 months to even make this whole squad the painting drilling electronics and modeling was a real nightmare to be honest haha but i really like the finished product i still have been stuck for a better ideal for the bases though.

well to be completely honest when i said custom i meant it haha my dads a software engineer and literally designed and ordered the boards and programmed the chips himself. Every board has my fathers name on it and i have to manually install every part and chip on that board myself this is definetly something that isnt really easily repeated to say the least my dad wrote a 500 line code just to make it do all the 12 random effects in each model. my dad did the design of the board and software i did all the manual labor, drilling actual wiring of both the board and parts and the model it self and all the painting. i also installed resisters so that the lights dont fry the board over time which is something most people dont do thats why the bases had to be so big there was a ton to the board its bigger than it looks which is why they dont fit in the base. thats the major thing this doesnt just turn on .. then turn off.. with all the effected and such the board takes up just as much room as the battery hold making the base twice as tall as it should be but this all really balances the model and also helps for los purpose. granted that is a double edge sword since its also harder to block los if your holding a point haha.

@shogun Hey man i noticed that when you made your model the battery pack seems to take up the whole model. what voltage is your batteries that you used and where they lithium or what type. Also how much room was left in your base when you put that in ? Did you use any circuit boards or cpus in yours? or is it just a on off switch like ive seen everyone else do?

I love these models..long time ago I did one model for dungeons and dragons. just on and off though. Makes me want to try and do more items with led's. Again great Job!

I'm not sure about the flashing eyes, It would look better just to have them on continuously. However I can see the huge effort in putting all the circuitry in, so its impressive.
The stormraven interior is brilliant, best of them!

I also concur you need to show us a tutorial. VERY Cool. I love it. I'm wanting to do something similar with both my Space Marines, CSM's, and my Necrons. Along with a tutorial, would you be able to give us additional information. Such as where you purchase your materials (i.e. LED's.) What manafacturers and sizes of LED's you recommend. Etc. Always looking for details.
