So, I thought it would be funny to field Sharpe and his detachment of sharpshooters in Mordheim

Captain: Lieutenant Richard Sharpe
-Light Armor
-Handgun
-Sword
-Dagger

Champion: Sergeant Patrick Harper
-Light Armor
-Handgun
-Sword
-Dagger

(3) Marksmen
-(3) Light Armor
-(3) Handgun
-(3) Swords
-(3) Daggers

Yes, arming them all with Handguns and Light Armor is a expensive but it works for the theme of the warband.

Sorry can't comment on the list Murray, as I have never played Mordheim.
But a mate of mine ran a Sharpe's Rifles Mordheim unit.
iirc they had handguns he said they worked well. Not sure if they had light armour, but guessing not.

You'll be taking rout tests at one out of action. That unto itself is dangerous, but I've seen other warbands like this used effectively.

Which warband will they actually be list wise?

A friend of mine did this exact list, after 3 games into the campaign he disbanded. lady of the lake curse just wreaked him. because he only had 3 models so he lose every game and couldn't make money to replace anything.

Well, I have a Captain and a Champion so that means I at least get 2d6 wyrd stone and a chance to get doubles on the exploration chart.

even with 2 heroes that wont be enough imo, i was playing skaven and was cap'd out on heroes with 6 and something like 10 total models in my warband at the start you'll just get swamped. but hay maybe no one in your campaign will play skaven. lol

I agree the gold generation will be weak. You're looking at a max of 70g a game if you're extremely lucky -- this is IF your heroes survive the battle. With only 2 human heroes and no helmets, your average club/dagger henchman can take a hero out a turn with some luck, preventing you from getting any gold for the game. So it's always preferable to get heroes over henchmen, to make sure you gain gold.

IMO your list would work a little better like this

Captain (60) + free dagger, pistol (15), sword (10) = 85gc
2 champions (70) + free dagger, pistols (30) swords (20) = 120gc
2 youngbloods (30) + free dagger, pistols (30) swords (20) = 80gc
3 marksmen (75) + free dagger, crossbows (75) maces (9) = 159

helmets for all heroes = 50gc
9 gc saved!

armor is too expensive and is easily invalidated. You can upgrade the crossbows to hochland long rifles and start slapping braces of pistols on everyone after your first few battles, and equip them with armor too! And you'll still have the feel of an incredibly shooty list. Pistols are only range 6" so you actually have some supporting fire without getting doubleshotted by slings as soon as you get in range.

I don't think I'd start Skaven at less than 14 or 15. My starting Merc bands would probably clock in around 13.

Warband effectiveness will mostly depend on how people play in your group. Some people play MH like a semi-RPG with lots of equipment, etc. Others play more competitively and this list would be in trouble in that environment.

Mr Sharpe needs to be a Major to command a seperate detachment by the way. Kings (Regents?) regulations sir!

Someone also needs to have vinegar and brown paper ala Hagman (healing).

Harper should have a blunderbus (volley gun).

You should include young bloods for Perkins and Pendleton.

Vinegar and Brown Paper = Healing Herbs

I think a Blunderbus is a terrible weapon, but there is a Swivel Gun which I can look into getting.

I think I will add the Young Bloods after my first game.
