Ok time to post First turn.

My Grand strategy was Counter Assualt so I put that on both Terminator squads.

The Tyranid movement phase was almost standard. Everything moving foward 6" but the Hive Guard (And the Gargoyles and Tyrant who moved 12") The shooting phase was also standard he ran, 1 Hormagaunt brood getting 4" as did the other and the termagaunts ran 6" (The lucky swine) he then got worried the Hive Guard might get out of synapse so ran with them also and got a good 5" he didn't run with the Gargoyles or tyrant to keep his screen there and so he could keep synapse range on everything.

End of Tyranid turn 1.

Grey Knight's turn 1.
Nothing happened in the Movement phase so I could use the OSR (Orbital Strike relay) The shooting phase was almost eventful since I fired the two OSR's. I chose the Barrage bombs and got 3 this turn (All together) the first one scattered 11" and killed 2 Hormagaunt's (Not to bad for a 11" scatter) the second only scattered 6" and killed another 2 Hormagaunts and 3 termagaunts. The third and final one scattered to my favour into the Gargoyles and the Hive tyrant. The Tyrant was unlucky and took a wound (Yes I was very jammy there) and out of the 10 Gargoyles only 1 Survived. Not to bad eh?

More to come, please post who you think's going to win.

Ok time for Turn 2 Me thinks. Please start posting also guys

Tyranids Turn 2.

The Tyranids surged fowards the Gargoyles and Tyrant moving 12" the Hormagaunts went over a barricade and moved 5" and the rest move 6". The Hive Tyrant performs leech essence and gets 2 shots and fails to wound on both. The hormagaunts ran 4" the Termagaunts 5" and the Warriors and Hiveguard 3".

Grey Knight turn 2.

I didn't move so I could use the OSR and I got 5 Barrages this turn, lucky me The first scattered 7" and Killed a Hormagaunt and a Termagaunt, the next hit 9 Hormagaunts and a termagaunt I killed 6 hormagaunts and the Termagaunt then next one Killed 8 Hormagaunts the next hit 6 Termagaunts and 3 Hormagaunts killing all of them the last one hit 2 Hormagaunts and killed them.

Please post and vote who you think is going to win.

Ok thanks for not posting.... Anyway let's carry on. I'm playing the Grey Knights by the way but I think you know that. Now let's start up.

Turn 3.

The Hive Tyrant and his little friend the Gargoyle flew fowards towards my line. The rest moved 6" fowards. The tyrant cast leech essence a gets 3 Shots 1 Wounds and I chose my GM as the target for the 4+Inv save, I fail and take a wound. The Hormagaunts ran one getting 3" the other 2" and the Termagaunts 1" the Warriors got 3" and the Hiveguard 5" suprising for a range squad, mabye they're to eager. The Tyrant and the Gargoyle assaulted the squad. The lash whip stopping my Halberds whipping out but heh-ho. He allocated 2 attacks to the GM and wounded him once, the rest failed to make an Impression on the squad. The Gargoyle did nothing predictably. I hit back and killed the Tyrant and the Gargoyle (Thank you brotherhood banner)

Turn 3 GK I moved out from my cover trusting my 2+ save and the fact the Tyrant was no more I shot the Hormagaunts and wiped them all out the other squad then charged into the other squad and wiped them out also.

Tyranid's turn 4.

The warriors moved 6" and opened fire on the Terminators killing 1, (Mabye I trusted 2+ save too much oh well I outnumber him now) The hive guard also shot and wounded the GM who failed his save. The warriors assaulted the squad yet to lose anything, they lost 3 to the halberds and the remaining 3 failed too cause any wounds the 2+ save protecting them the GM hit at the same time and killed them all, I consolidated 2" towards the hiveguard which apart from 2 Termagaunts were the only thing left on the board.

Grey Knight turn 4

I moved the intact squad 6" towards the Hive Guard and didn't shoot (Just wanted too end with an Iconic Grey Knight assault) I used the smaller squad to fire into the 2 Termagaunts gunning them down with ease. I then assaulted the Hiveguard with the bigger squad cutting them all down, Tyranid tabled on turn 4.

My thoughts:
OSR was a beast in this game, would like to test against a mech army though, would be intresting. Anyway hope you enjoyed the report. Please comment

Very interesting turn out. I am fan of OSR, I would like to include 2 tech marines in a 2000point list to be able to shoot the blasts every round and also provide a +3 cover save to 2 dreadnoughts. Could end up being a wicked range of fire.

I find it a good fun list, I think mine will come unstuck against mech and Spod/Drop pod lists. But fun nether the less.

Also thanks for the reply.

How did you manage to be so accurate with OSR, you do know that it allways scatters right? and just remember that the GM doesn't have Eternal warrior so he would have been instant killed by the Hive Guard shot. Really good battle report btw.

Oh, I wrote it down in the heat of battle, and my writing is pretty awful, mabye It was just a GK.
It's because when there is around 60+ models on the board it's hard not too miss. That and it's large blast markers so It's quite a large amount. That and I got lucky

Not the result I was expecting but a good win none-the-less!
Goes to show that small GK lists can still perform quite well.

Can you really have 2 Brotherhood Banners in one list?

Aren't they like Chapter Banners?

Warriors do well with twin bone swords. The tyranid player just played a baaaad game.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

That didn't end quite like I thought it would. Good game! The OSRs really screwed the Tyranid player over in this game, eh? Maybe next time they can squeeze out a win against Grey Knights.

Unfortunately it will be a while, I will probably have to find an Oppenent other than my regular one at my FLGS.

I forgot to use the psystroke but I didn't forget the rad's. Not that it matter's hugely...

Anyway thanks for the good replies, I will try and test against a SM next.

Yeah I was hoping to see what the Psychotrokes would do to him. Nice game and neat report. It's a little hard to visualize the movement and damage, though. Pictures would free you up from describing movement in inches so you could focus on results more.

Wow...only 12 models at 1K. Luckily you got annihilation. Otherwise, if you had to move towards objectives, it probably would have turned out much differently.

I thought the same thing. I would in that situation get them GM's hiding away and the Termies DS'ing. Might win with that considering if I pass my psychic test I get a +2 on my reserve rolls.

Congrats on the Victory, but I have to say I think that Tyranid list was rather poorly put together.

I think you guys should both tune your lists, and have a rematch!

You used 2 grandmasters with OSR in a 1000p format.

You're lucky not only that the tyranid player didn't play very well, but also that he accepted to play in the first place. I wouldn't have, not against that kind of cheesy list. It's like a 1000p tyranid list with 3 trygon prime. Effective, but not fun to fight with or against.

It isn't that the Nid play was bad I don't think it's just that by the time he could assault there was nothing left, that and the GK's are beast in CC. Especially Terminators and Paladins.

I loved playing this game. I just hope it opens people up too the fact OSR make up their points. They should always be taken in pairs though. Hoped you enjoyed the report

If you play against mech you're going to NEED either Land Raiders or Daemonhammers, let me tell you. Sure, you can pop transports no problem with Psycannons, but against anything higher than AV12, I'd reccomend something with a little more punch.
