Im kinda new to deathwatch and im trying to make a dark Angel techmarine and I was wondering does the + 5 BS and +5 Int add to the actual total like when you buy the advancemt for that characteristic?

The +5BS and +5Int that Dark Angels get happens after you roll up their stats.

So you roll their stats (2D10+30 for each stat), and once you have the totals you add a furhter +5 to your BS, and +5 to your Int. After that you can spent some of your starting 1000 EXP on more stat increases.

The +5BS/+5Int is just meant to be a bonus for Dark Angel Characters, much like how +10 Willpower is a bonus for Imperial Fist Characters or +5WS/+5Ag is a bonus for Blood Angels.

There are only those three, plus the sword. You only get to pick one though. They might give us new Chapter Trappings in other books, but they've not announced any, so who knows?

The Tech-Marine's role can vary quite a bit. They can be excellent ranged fighters, sitting back with exotic and heavy weapons and defending themselves well with their Servo-Arms if anything gets close (Servo-Arms are very dangerous). They can be good HTH fighters as they have the aforementioned Servo-Arm plus the Omnissian Axe is pretty cool.

They obviously have all the technical based skills, and with Signature Wargear can even get Servitor to help them (ranged or HTH Servitors can be very useful). So if you need a computer hacked or a door opened, they're the best for it.

And they're tanks. Cybernetic implants make you very tough, so taking a few Toughness upgrades, a few The Flesh is Weak upgrades and getting Artificer Armour can make for a wonderful central point for the Kill-Team. The last game we played with a Tech-Marine saw him standing up to just about everything. TB14, armour 10 or 11 in most locations (13 on his chest). The guy was a beast!

My main character is a Dark Angel Librarian. He's lots of fun. I don't have any Dark Angel-specific powers (they kinda suck) and focused heavily on Telepathic Powers (Short- and Long-Ranged Telepathy, Astrotelepathy and, as soon as I can get it, Mind Scan). I usually sit back and support the group with a Psychic Shield that protects our ranged fighters while throwing Smite attacks down range.

Playing two characters can be difficult, but everyone in my group has done it at once stage or another to fill in for someone that couldn't make it, so it certainly can be done.
