My chapter is a loyalist group of Luna Wolves isolated from the rest of the legion a few years before the Heresy by a warp flux. Coming out of the warp a century ago they immediately sought to reconnect with the Emperor. They were attacked by nearby Ultramarines on sight and fled after losing a third of their forces. They quickly repainted their Armour and made a fake history. The Einstein's Avengers emerged. After learning of Horus's betrayal they were appalled and sought to take down the Black legion one war band at a time. The Avengers are lead by the only 5 high ranking officers that were with the original force: A librarian named Jaro, A Chaplain named Duva, A captain named Cruz, A captain who elected to lead the newly formed scout company named Solrac, and a Techmarine named Martalis. Each of these heroes now leads one of the five companies of the chapter as they hunt down their fallen brothers.


Very rough and kind of hard to read I know but there's the general idea. Thoughts and opinions?

Sounds interesting, but how would they know of the Eisenstein? You have a good idea I would just perhaps fix the name a bit and add into it because it can make for a very good chapter/legion/rag tag group of space marines. Also are you planning on using FW minis for this? Colors and chapter symbol? Perhaps I would go as far as using the cresent moon and go from that?

I don't have money for forge world any time soon but eventually yes. They repainted their armour Green with orange shoulder pads and white helmets to hide from the inquisition but they kept the grey boots chapter symbol is a wolf head looking up side view. They did research when they were attacked by the smurfs to learn the last ten k or so years of history. They operate out of a mobile fleet and are never more than a system between strike forces.

It has been a long time since I've read the HH series and my lore is a bit rusty on Luna Wolves, but did they use Librarians? I also can't recall a mention of Chaplains outside of the Word Bearers but I think I read somewhere that they existed, just in a slightly different role. The use of a force from Pre-Heresy could be interesting, though making it fluffy poses somewhat of a challenge.

This doesn't make much sense, seeing as much of the Horus Heresy is vailed in secrecy due to a suppression of knowledge by the IoM High Council. Nearly every single human in the IoM will have no idea about Eisenstein, so a renegade band, that is being hunted for being the marines of a primarch that nearly killed the Emperor wouldn't be able to learn about the past 10000 years.

I'm playing a campaign with them right now and one of the battles they have to fight is raiding an ancient marines library to gain this knowledge.
