I too really dig your take on Lucius. I like the purple mirror blade he's sporting. The rest of the models are all well executed as well. Good work.

That is some crazy crisp white paint on that (I'm assuming) World Eaters marine and Razorback.

Thanks for the comments, I am trying to focus on improving my painting at the moment reading articles and watching dvds etc. Wrestling around with the NMM right now although I think some parts came out ok in this work. The idea for this was to keep the palette simple and limited to a few colours and see what I could produce.

The Purple armour is actually a reaper colour I got as a sample when I ordered a mini from them. It doesnt say which one it is someone may be able to help me here. I based using this colour and then did a purple wash which is the key to the nice contrast. Purple again, followed by highlights by adding a bit of white added each time.

The purple on the sword and hoses was Liche purple. The whip was painted using my premixed bottle of hormagaunt purple and a lot of white which makes a very pastel colour, then glazed with a red/purple mix(1:1) which is not so evident in the photo. The cloth was a combo of the whip purple and armour purple.

The sample paint from reaper really impressed me so I'm probably going to get the 1st master series paint set (108 bottles), the GW paints have **** me right off for too long. Have a look into this one if your thinking about a new paint set.

This. Wow. Just wow.

The smoothness of the white and blue in the Sternguard/Razorback as well as the quality of all the other miniatures is simply amazing man. Having tried (and failed miserably) to paint Lucius well before, I think you've done a truly great job on him. Wow.

Enlist as a virtual Ultramarine! Click here for my Chaos Gate (PC) thread.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."
