Hey all, here is my chapter of Space Marines. I've managed to produce a good deal of fluff for them, but am undecided on a name. To provide some back story, they are a chapter hailing from a planet called "Fury". It is a planet of dense jungle, large swaths of open plains like those found in Africa, and mountains known for volcanic activity. The world is populated by a variety of harsh predators, with brutal heat and ravening winds. The Chapter picks recruits from amongst the tribes residing on the planet. The chapter utilizes lion-like iconography because the planet is populated with wild cats that conveniently resemble Sabretusks from the Ogre Kingdoms. I have a couple that I intend to paint and have serve as guardians for my Captain. As part of the back story these Sabretusks are domesticated by the various tribes to assist with hunting and waging war.

The tribes that populate the planet are war-like and hunters. The preferred weapons of the tribes are claws harkening to the predators they battle, and spears for their obvious hunting benefits. To represent these preferences the power weapons for the marines themselves are lightning claws and power glaives, as seen so prevalently below. The chapter itself is divided into nine tribes (companies), with the scouts being the tenth company. The tribes select new members from the scout company. The tribes are recognized by the trim on their pauldrons, with a different color for each tribe. Additional markings may be found as tatoos, war paint, or markings on their knee pads. The orange slash across their left eye is a marking denoting 50 years of service. Every 50 years a new slash is added. The helmets are brown, though once one attains veteran status a red line is drawn down the middle of their helmet. A sergeant's helmet is all red. No helmet distinctions are made for assault or devastator squads. Their armor is the colored primarily in earthy tones like the plains and mountains they hail from.

The chapter's greatest and most frequent enemies are Orks, because frankly Orks rule. Well, if you have any good name ideas please let me have them. Hope you like them.

The Desert Lions.

* Operation Carthage (the Second Pacification of Isstvan V)

During the campaign to retake Isstvan V, the detachment of the Desert Lions was accompanied by an attached cohort of Legio Cybernetica robots. The chapter's attack on the planet's defence forts was preceded by the cohort, which had been programmed to advance on the defences in an apparently mindless fashion. Easily destroyed by the defenders, they succeeded in mapping out the defenders' fire-plans and blind spots. When the Desert Lions launched their attack only seven Marines were lost. All surviving robots of the cohort were inducted into the chapter as honorary members as a mark of respect.

I agree that the desert lions sounds good, if not that then I suggest something with feral in it, to go with it being written on a bunch of your models already.

Maybe the Feral Angels or something like that even.

Whatever you wind up calling them they look awesome and that's what really counts.

Thank you all for the great input thus far. Not sure why it is so hard for me to come up with a name I liked myself, but I'm certainly not opposed to taking others great suggestions. I particularly liked:
