So, I finished my fist space marine squad, ever. This is for my custom chapter, depicting the mighty Blaugrana, using the Brazen Claw scheme for basic troop units, but counting as a BA successor chapter.

And yes, I went there and did the plasma dude, totally overused etc. etc. - but it so happens that I find it hilarious, and it also happens that I usually kill 80% of my plasma gunners from rolling 1's. Other than that, this was my first time trying to highlight, some of it came out good, some of it not so much. But it was a good learning experience, and I'm pretty confident that my army will look good on the table.

Next up are some assault marines

And yes, there are some mold lines, I really thought I had gotten them before priming and painting, but they just keep showing up :\

PS: Should anyone want to, the picture is in my gallery for zoomage.

Really nice paintjob! I like the highlighting and the bases are really cool too. How did you achieve that perfect quartered scheme?

Guilliman and the Ultramarines are like Manchester United, everyone hates them because they are so awesome!

I agree with you, an entire army painted like that will look VERY nice on the table top.

Are you planning on any adornment for the shoulder pads?
Also I would suggest hollowing the barrels, its a little trick that goes a long way.

Love them.

I'm curious as well, how did you manage that quartered scheme?

Its not that perfect when seen up close, but it's good enough for me.

@Jedi: I'm thinking about putting something on the shoulders, but I just don't know what. I'm only going to have one tactical squad, so for them it doesn't matter much, but I'm going to have a few assault squads, so I'd like to something to tell those apart.

And yes, barrels will be drilled, the drill is currently en-route from Wayland Games

Those are really nice, well done. I like the basing as well. What I would do next would be to highlight the eyes. There are some good guides here:

Other than that, they look great!

Thanks for the comments And thanks for the tutorial links, painting eyes really sucks, I can't get em good, but its something I want to improve, as it really adds a lot to the model.

Im still trying to figure out why people even take plasma guns instead of meltas...but to each his/her own.

Nice work on the colors. The lines look sharp and the blue and red tones you chose fit together nicely. great work!

Very nice, I think the red could do with a bit of a clean up as you can see the wash in a few places.

Else-wise very good start.

I hate painting eyes as well, but when you finish them and stand back it does look great. It just takes a little practice. Try the techniques out on some spare marines, because practice makes perfect.
They are really fiddly, but again, practice. Maybe hold off on the glowing eyes, just until you get the hang of it, and always practice.
