I'd do my best to aim for a consistant color scheme. I'd personally think units as uniform as Gun drones would have to come from some mass produced factory where they all come out the same. Try maybe a base color and then paint the armor plate edges with a bright color to give it a glow type effect. Almost like highlighting. Here's my version

Don't ever use flash when taking pictures of your minis. Use lamps and natural light and take pictures against a white backdrop. Flash blows the image out and just makes it garish and ugly. From what I can tell these are fairly low-detail and could definitely benefit from some sort of shading and highlighting.
