Hey everyone!

I have been dabbling in basing my models (finally) and would like to show off my latest work for some feedback on the completed model! This is the Forge World Chaplain Dreadnought complte with Plasma Cannon and Power claw. Based and ready for battle.

A close up on the base (I am most proud of this strangely enough)

Of course I lovingly painted the slain chaos marine in the style of my buddy's Chaos Space marines

All comments, tips, and questions are appreciated!

Looks good, but the black could use some more grey highlighting, and the white could use some defining as it still just looks undercoated.

A badab black wash would really make that white stand out.

But I really love the base!

Well done!

I love the model in general but agree the white needs work, its really nicely painted but doesnt go with the whole 40k image, it just looks to clean and pristine on the dread, i reckon a black wash would do it wonder.

I love the base as well, CSM got owned

Theres something about raiding planets and then bathing in the slaves misery and torment that really gets me. I love DE, and can now play in 2000point matches with the addition of my latest stuff! Kabal of the Purple Blaze.

I also have 2 squads of IG Shock troopers and a Platoon Comand squad as a start to my IG army For Cadia Check out my blog - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/380874.page#3047386

Ok, thank you all for your comments. I have tried to do a black wash and it has sometimes come out looking grey. I'll try again and post pics shortly now that I have had a little more experience with the new washes. (Usually i use them on Orks who... yknow... don't need to look good per se haha)

Ok here are new pics. I want to put this model to rest, as I have spent a long time with him and my painting skills have improved immensly since I first started this project. This is probably apparent by the base compared to the model (the base is better I think). I quickly did some additional highlights on the black armor, tried to add some depth to the skulls and wings on the front, and painted a Dark Angels chapter symbol on the dreadnought's shoulder. He looks better in real life (of course) and on a real tabletop. He will accompany my army proudly into battle. I am happy with what I have and will not be making any additional changes. I do, however, wish I had waited on painting him so that my skills would be up to snuff for how gorgeous a model he is. Oh well.

Here are the new (and final) pics.

Comments and Questions are always appreciated

Exceptional. The wings on the front really pop now. This is a great example of how to do white correcly. All in all, I like this model quite a bit. I didn't know a Chaplain Dreadnought figure existed (although since I don't look at Forgeworld stuff that's probably why) but if I had I would have really wanted to see one. And now I am not disappointed. Good job!

Welcome to the Freakshow!

Thanks for the kind words! I have spent so much time on those dang wings! Probably entirely too many coats and too much time but w/e. I am proud

As soon as I saw the model on Forge World I knew it'd be the perfect accent to my DW/RW army. Details are intense, but a good challenge for my level. I think I did well.
